@ColorblindMonk It's actually not a good deal unless you wait until they roll out their revamped FFXIV 2.0 late next year. The current game is light-years behind WoW and other competitors in terms of content. As someone who's played the game for the past 4 months, don't jump in. Wait until the revamped game comes out.

@StrangeDNA They are starting over from scratch since they replaced the head of the project. With their FFXIV 2.0 plan, they're scrapping almost all of the original front-end and back-end systems. They're already starting to get rid of and rework a lot of the UI and combat elements already.

Unfortunately, the FFXIV 2.0 isn't scheduled to come out until late next year around this time, so people won't be getting their money's worth until then.

As much as it makes sense to us to cut losses, SE has a vested interest in maintaining the illusion of quality across all their main titles, as they have too much to lose by leaving FFXIV in its current poor condition. That said it remains to be seen if FFXIV 2.0 will give people renewed faith in their MMO offerings, since so many other newer MMOs will be out at that time.

Is there a reason why reviews for the game haven't come out yet?

I guess being totally anal to reviews is a lot easier than making a good game, amirite?

On the flip side, I feel sorry for being the PR rep to that game. How could you put any positive spin on a crappy game?

I think Ludwig will be playing FarCry 2 for a while. After all, he has to practice dodging bullets and mercenaries when he goes out to buy groceries.

I think teh intertubes were jammed with spam emails when you guys were doing the podcast. Hopefully they'll get some internet plumbers in there to clean it up before next podcast.

I'm glad to hear that even kids don't like Wii Music. Too bad it won't stop it from selling like cinnamon-covered hotcakes.
