Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam includes unlockable team challenge map

Dec 3rd 2010 4:07PM (Joystiq)
@Pigeonreaper

I run around on the frontlines with an ACOG attached to my VSS or SVU. Both of those rifles have really good close range damage (they're the sniper rifle analogs to the G3 and M14 respectively) and it lets you use motion mines and C4 to help your teammates as well. The SVU is also pretty good at counter-sniping if you're at the right range.

Kingdom Under Fire 2 marches toward PS3 in 2012

I'd love for this sequel to be good. Crusades satisfied my need for a Mount and Blade style game before and it would be great if I could relive those moments now.

Report: Bizarre Creations staff morale boosted by buyer talks

@bargaingamer

I don't know if ZeniMax would be interested but they seem to be treating their developers well so I would actually support this.

EA assumes all publishing duties for Star Wars: The Old Republic from LucasArts

Nov 11th 2010 2:10AM (Joystiq)
@ChuckBartowskiX

LucasArts is a pretty sad company these days. It seems to go through dev teams each time it releases a game, which isn't often. Frankly, I have no idea why they decided against farming out development of Star Wars titles completely, as they don't seem up to the task at all. TFU2 is terrible and they haven't released much else recently.

DICE: Medal of Honor Taliban controversy affected reviews

Nov 5th 2010 7:04PM (Joystiq)
I'm thinking that the Bad Company series is at its end at this point. I believe Battlefield 3 is coming out on consoles as well as PC, while Medal of Honor is a license that EA is unlikely to discontinue (again). Battlefield 3 will be large-scale battles (I think 64 player on consoles and 80 on PC) whilie MoH will showcase smaller maps with the Combat Mission and Team Assault gametypes. Having another Bad Company game that takes up space in between these two subgenres would be unnecessary, not to mention an overextension of DICE's ability to put out games.

I actually didn't mind the MoH multiplayer. Mostly because my reflexes aren't good enough for the twitch reflexes required for CoD. I like the idea of defensive rewards too, but I'd like to see the breakdown of how many people took the offensive pointstreak awards and how many people took the defensive ones.

Dragon Age 2 preview: A rogue's tale, exaggerated

@Brockobama321

You're probably going to get downvoted for complaining about ME2. I thought it offered a lot of improvements, mainly in the form of the flow of combat and better weapons. At the same time, I wish there was more customization than what we got. It would have been cool to add different silencers or scopes to your weapons like AP did. And more armor sets. Even with the DLC armor, most of which you have to pay for, there are only 4 or 5 customizable sets.

How tomorrow's Supreme Court violent game case could affect consumers

Nov 1st 2010 3:49PM (Joystiq)
While I haven't seen any study that has shown a strong enough of a correlation for me to renounce my view on violent video games, it's good that this issue is being taken seriously by the courts. Something like this which can potentially affect the youth should be taken as seriously as possible. Hopefully the case is treated fairly tomorrow.

Greenberg: Kinect sales won't depend on review scores

Oct 29th 2010 10:19PM (Joystiq)
I don't see why people are unhappy about something that has the potential to bring more people into the market. The video game industry can use profit generated from casual titles to fund core titles, like how Ubisoft is doing.
