I don't mean to be "that" guy, but instead of "take a queue", it should be "take a cue".

Dance Central 2 to humiliate Kinect owners once again

@Sgt Barone Yeah, but at what cost? I'm guessing that, like Rock Band, the import won't be free... $10 is my guess.

Yeah, even though these options look great, even if they get them working good, I can't see myself paying for it.

Harmonix hit with layoffs, intended to align with 'current product development plans'

Feb 7th 2011 6:14PM (Joystiq)
@PR0F3TA Just to be clear. You *DO NOT* have to invest in any additional hardware to play RB3. All of your existing peripherals will work just FINE. Heck, they even added back in support for the stage kit in the latest title update...

@tankjonson It's called progress. Just be thankful that the content is forward-compatible. And it's not that uncommon. DLC released for GH:WOR can't be played in GH:5 or GH:WT.

The main reason the compatibility was able to be maintained between RB1 and RB2 is that there were no changes to the DLC structure. For RB3, since you have keyboards broken into their own track, how's RB2 supposed to know WTH to do with that when it sees it?

You either need to suck it up and get RB3 so you can have all the music available plus new DLC, or you need to just stick with RB2 and ignore those posts talking about what DLC is coming out this week, since clearly it is upsetting to you.

Report: MTV Games shut down

Feb 3rd 2011 7:41PM (Joystiq)
@NerdyNose245 You can read, can't you? Guess not. Rock Band is no longer owned by Viacom/MTV Games. Harmonix bought Rock Band and Dance Central (and all the intellectual rights and copyrights to everything with those games).

MTV Games is shutting down because (presumably) the Rock Band franchise was its only property. Rather than develop more games, it was decided to shut down MTV Games.
