PS3 price increase in Canada?!

Jan 27th 2007 3:29AM (Joystiq Xbox)
Absolutely not Sony's decision. While I can't really go out and confirm this, putting Future Shop and Best Buy together can only lead to one thing, retailer decision. Considering Future Shop is owned by Best Buy.

I can assure you the price is still $659.99 CDN at most retail stores like Wal-Mart and Superstore. Heck, even the Sony Store is still selling it for $659.99 CDN

Nyko keeping your 360 cool? Think twice

Oct 28th 2006 2:45AM (Joystiq Xbox)
I bought the Intercooler at the same time when Table Tennis came out.

Now, I had my Xbox 360 since late November 2005(just a little over launch day) Games ran fine like Ridge Racer and NFS Most Wanted(the most played game). I usually play on an average 3 hours a day. Ever since Full Auto came out, I had nothing but problems with the console from glitchy graphics to freezing.

I bought the Intercooler, installed it and had absolutely no problems with it. It helped my console from freezing but not the glitchy graphics(flashing black textures)

A little loud but that's why we have volume control. I replaced my first generation 360 with the new batch(August 2006 manufactured) of consoles for a quiet DVD drive and better handling with the graphics(no more glitches) I immediately installed the Intercooler and played away.

It's been a whole month since I got the new console and it works great! No problems at all. I'm sure it'll be the same without the Intercooler although the Xbox would probably get really hot.

No scorch marks on either consoles.

Note: Instead of sending it to Microsoft for repairs, I opted for a newer console with extended warrenty at EB(first one was bought at Wal-Mart) Both 360s are Premium editions.

Molyneux interested in revisiting old franchises

Yes, please bring back the Syndicate series.

I wasn't too big of a fan with the first one but was instantly hooked with the sequel, Syndicate Wars. An online version(thinking he's talking about Massive Multiplayer) would be interesting to see but rather see them build a better background story and a proper single-player game before making it a MMOG. Something like id Software did with Doom 3. It's like they completely remade Doom into a living, breathable world(thanks to improved game writing and game engines)

Nintendo: A history of ups and downs

Jul 28th 2006 7:57PM (Joystiq)
While Virtual Boy was a failure from the start, I did like it. Even though it was only red and black, the games were great like Wario Land and Galactic Pinball. Dare I say it, Red Alarm was also a good VB game despite it being in wireframe-like graphics, causing some confusion to the gamer

Personally, Virtual Boy falls in between "NintenDO" and "NintenDONT" It's slowly reaching to the point where it's a collector's item and some claiming it a cult favorite. Nintendo had some guts to actually produce this console and being the first to make a mainstream & affordable virtual reality system for the average gamer.

ROB is gaining cult status here, regardless of the clunky gameplay with this cheap plastic robot. I bought one myself in mint condition(NES ROB Console Set) as an icon to videogames. Move over Mario, ROB is Nintendo's true mascot. Plus isn't this thing fetching big bucks on ebay(depending on condition)?

Okay so we all know the article is poorly written or well...poorly chosen considering they put The Wizard and Super Mario Bros the Movie on the list. Why?!? Pick something that's actually from Nintendo!

Sweaty palms? There's a PSP faceplate for you!

I wouldn't mind doing the mod, even having the thought that it will void my warranty. What I was thinking to do is buy a new PSP(under its soon-to-be new low price) and modify the heck out of it. That way I'll have a non-modified PSP(my shiny baby) and a "I don't care if it gets busted, stolen, dropped or kicked" PSP

And instead of HardOCP's bright red buttons in their review, I'll buy the blue or black set.
