Google Maps Navigation comes to Canada and mainland Europe, remains free as a bird

Now if Rogers would actually update my Magic beyond 1.5...

Amazon Kindle slimming down in August?

May 29th 2010 8:14AM (Engadget)
Thinner? Are you kidding me? Any thinner and it'll snap in half...

Then again, I never thought they could make the K2 as sturdy as it is while maintaining the thinness. Maybe they can pull it off again...

Amazon's Kindle 2.5 software update begins to roll out

May 24th 2010 12:48PM (Engadget)
My Kindle 2 International in Canada hasn't got it yet. I keep my wireless off pretty much all the time though unless I'm going to buy a book, so for all I know they've already tried to send it.

I'll leave it on for a few days and keep my fingers crossed. Anybody else up here got it yet?

Joyswag: ModNation Racers (and a PSP!)

May 15th 2010 8:32AM (Joystiq)
I want to make a track longer than the N64 version of Rainbow Road.

If I don't win a copy of ModNation Racers, I suppose I could always do it when Nintendo steals the track-creation aspect for the next edition of Mario Kart.

Kindle's social networking-friendly 2.5 update gets an early preview

Anyone who says that the reading experience on an iPad equals that of an e-reader. Plain and simple. You can argue to death about which device in general has more merit, and for tons and tons of people, the iPad comes out on top, but ask any die-hard reader to use both for a month and compare them, and I bet I know their answer. I definitely know mine. Take my music, movies, email, internet, and a million other features and put them in one device, but if you insist on taking my books off paper, then they better damn well be on e-ink because that is the true digital reading experience out there.

Kindle version 2.5 update gets Facebooked and Twitterized

ORGANIZATION!

Finally... how was this not a feature out of the box. Hell, it feels like cheating to call it a "feature".

Toy Story 3 trailer explains the customizable 'Toy Box' mode

Apr 25th 2010 10:42PM (Joystiq)
Toy Story came out in 1995. I'll bet most of today's 6-10 year olds have never even seen it. I'll definitely be giving this game a try.

Capcom apologizes for unannounced Final Fight: Double Impact DRM

Apr 23rd 2010 11:49PM (Joystiq)
Hopefully they also offer a refund to anybody who paid money for this over-controlled nonsense. I for one will never buy a game that requires me to be online to play single player.

Ubisoft DRM authentification server is down, Assassin's Creed 2 unplayable

Mar 7th 2010 5:41PM (Joystiq)
Don't buy Ubisoft PC games at all, and buy their console games used.

Hopefully they'll get the message.

'Project Needlemouse' is Sonic the Hedgehog 4; episodic on PS3, Wii and 360 this summer

Feb 4th 2010 4:06AM (Joystiq)
Cautious optimism right now...

"Episodic" could be taken to mean "story focused", which would only spell disaster.
