What if you beat out World of Warcraft and nobody cared?

Jul 15th 2009 8:08PM (Massively)
Did someone PAY YOU to write this, seriously? I'm not a WoW fanboy, and I don't even play right now, but this has got to be the worst article on a video game I've ever read.

What game are you playing that is "better than WoW in every way" please, because we would LOVE to play it. 10 million of us in fact. I can barely contain myself, please lead us to greener pastures!

What game has "more subscribers" than WoW, unless you are talking about free accounts on some BS flash game from newgrounds? Please light the way, we are lost without your guidance!

How about this doozy, "some may be making more money." Go ahead and tell us which game, out of every single game on the entire planet, has ever made more money than World of Warcraft? Enlighten us!

Your other arguments include that the graphics might not be the best on the market; a month after ANY GAME is released, another with better graphics is announced... that another game might be more fun; do I need to describe how stupid that statement is to you? Maybe I do.

After all that you might still have me, it may be possible that some "other game" has a lower subscription fee than WoW.... Asheron's Call! that's one, it's only 9.99 a month! You've bested me here...

Next article try and cite an example, better yet, just don't write one, there is no need for you here. Get the f*** out of my industry.

Obsidian's Urquhart: happy thoughts on KOTOR 3

You've got to realize that there are TWO sides to each game - if not more - and those two sides are DEVELOPMENT and PUBLISHING. Obsidian is a DEVELOPER. They make the game, and the PUBLISHER tells them WHEN they MUST do things. This means that even if Obsidian - even with all of the clout - in their first title had HALF the game done, the PUBLISHER would still have shipped it, no if's an's or but's this was the PUBLISHER'S fault, not Obsidians.

Obsidian's Urquhart: happy thoughts on KOTOR 3

Marketing = the devil, I'm sure Obsidian had NOTHING to do with release time, and had a content lock before they were ready. I'd say 3-4 more months on KOTOR II to finish all the plot lines and it would have been better than the first.
