I'm going to have to dissent here and say EQ2X. I'm still trying to get into LOTRO, but I am finding it really bland. Combat is like molasses.

You should do something with Reddit too. It's way better than Digg.

I'm shocked it took so long for DAOC to get mention. Sadly, Mythic has run it into the ground, but back in the heyday I was obsessed with DAOC and it really did feel like hitting level 50 was just the beginning.

It's really the only other game than UO that held my attention for YEARS and not MONTHS.

I know WAR doesn't have much of a pop left, but since when was 24v24 respectable? I mean seriously... this is a CITY siege. I just can't get over just how far the ball was dropped on this game. But I do think it's great that Paul Barnett has crawled back under the rock that he came from. WAAAGH!

Havok, you can break the TOS in other ways than playing a private server. It's also usually against the TOS to use racist or sexual language... yet I highly doubt anyone will go to prison or be fined for using the "N" word (even if they deserve a punch in the nose for it)...

Between that and the fact that yeah, most of the emus are clean of stolen code, makes the whole situation a gray area at best.

I still don't think ILLEGAL should be thrown around so handily.

I'm not a legal whiz, but I feel like throwing the term ILLEGAL around is inaccurate at best. Sure, the servers and users may be breaking the TOS, but are they breaking some sort of federal or state law? There are an awful lot of these servers in the US that have been running for years... I would think that if it were unlawful they would have been shut down by now. I could be wrong. Like I said, I'm no Robert Shapiro. But it seems wrong to criminalize these people... I bet some of them even end up working in the industry.

The really cool thing is that Stephen wanted to port Dungeon Runners to be playable in a browser window before NC Soft apparently cut the funds and closed the game. DR was underrated, as well as TR.

I'm pretty excited to see what they cook up!

I still wish AOC would hit the 360. I want more console MMOs. The first one I played was EQOA and it was a really great little game. I miss it. I also played FFXI on the 360 and thought it was fun too.

Ripper, were you a Dungeon Runners player? I seem to remember your name from those forums. I think it's really cool that Stephen is involved in Portalarium, and honestly it's one of the big reasons I'm interested in what they do!
