WRUP: What are you playing?

Nov 9th 2008 11:52AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Probably the weirdest combination. I'm playing Saints Row 2 on my 360 and then LittleBigPlanet.

Devs say Little Big Planet not possible on the 360

I'm with you, nomadic0ne. I bought my PS3 for the exact same reasons. I bought it for LBP, PSN games (XBLA and Live are my favorite features of the 360) and BC. I bought a used 60GB PS3. My game collection for the Sony platform right now is:

PixelJunk Monsters
PixelJunk Eden (genius)
The Last Guy (also genius)
fl0w
Uncharted
Shadow of the Colossus
Ico
We Love Katamari

I plan on picking up Flower and LBP and that makes the system worth it to me. Only two retail games in there.

I have a 360 and already bought a PS3 for this game. Last week. I can't wait.

LittleBigPlanet bundle at French retailer, Sackboy trailer, Chinese version

I just bought a PS3 this week for LBP, actually. So, yeah, it's a system seller. I had some money, found a 60GB machine and so I bought it.

Granted, I also planned on playing a couple BC games (Ico and SotC) as well as PixelJunk Eden and PixelJunk Monsters, but I have no idea what else, if anything, I will buy for the PS3. I have a 360. There is no retail game that currently excites me enough to buy it. Nothing exclusive. So currently I have a PS3 that's being used for PSN and PS2 BC as I wait for LBP.

So yeah, LBP will be a system seller, IMHO.

X3F Insight: Why should we care about Braid?

Best post of the thread. I agree 100%. Especially regarding the mania over Castle Crashers. Here you have a game that's out right now, that's unique and interesting and is all the things that XBox usually isn't (i.e. not like Gears of War, Halo, GTA, etc.) and people can't pay $15 for it? That's why you get Madden 20 and Tony Hawk 12. Because you'll pay $60 for those, but won't pay $15 for a gem like this.

Video: You too can skate 2 too

Agreed. It doesn't look too crazy, though. I would imagine the trailer is meant to look more active than what an average gamer like myself could actually pull off in the game.

skate. was brilliant. It was my GOTY last year. This game looks like a definite upgrade. Pretty amazing.

Adam Sessler on Xbox Live Bigots

Jun 13th 2008 12:32PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I don't leave the mic off. I just stop playing those games. This whole conversation leaves out griefers. Those idiots who are on your team and try to kill you just because. That really makes for a fun game. Fighting your own teammates. Until you can finally get them kicked. Microsoft made a great online gaming platform. And in the process vaulted the 360 to one of my favorite consoles ever. Sadly that experience lasted all of 8 months before the people Sessler refers to started infiltrating games I was playing. Now I'm not entirely sure what to play or if to bother with it at all.

It gets so bad at times it makes you want to cancel your Gold account and just move on. Buy a PS3, a PSP a DS or something else and enjoy other experiences since what made the 360 so enjoyable has been utterly ruined.

PSP needs more third party titles

Jun 5th 2008 5:02AM (Joystiq Playstation)
I do believe some variety would be nice. More truly handheld games like Loco Roco, Lumines, etc. I enjoy having Strat/RPGs on the go, but these are console experiences squeezed into a handheld. It would be nice to have actual handheld games built for the PSP. Games like Patapon.

That article is so full of fail. My favorite games for the system.

Lumines
Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
Final Fantasy: The War of the Lions

None of those are Sony titles.
