Windows 8 Explorer to feature Ribbon UI, SkyDrive and Mesh integration?

I don't see how they can rectify the Ribbon UI with Metro UI. I was really hoping to see the latter overtake the former in Microsoft general. Just look at how much more attractive this could be: http://boneyardbrew.deviantart.com/art/Metro-Desktop-Concept-161916957?q=gallery%3Amicrosoftmetrolovers%2F26087461&qo=8

Windows 8 welcome screen revealed, looks very Metro

@Alicia A. I would hardly think that some text and an image would make any significant performance difference. If anything, the minimalism of the Metro UI design language lends itself more toward efficiency. Metro tends towards text instead of images and opaque, solid color instead of transparency.

Honestly, though, if you've got a modern machine I don't see how any of this is problematic.

Microsoft.com redesigned, brings WP7's Metro UI to the Web

Now please bring it to the PC.

I long ago got tired of Aero Glass and cobbled together my own Metro-style theme after studying the design language and core ideas behind it. Unfortunately I'm no graphic designer, so it's a bit lacking. I would love to see Microsoft's take on it.

I like home dash, but one problem I'm running into is that whenever I mouse over the login page for my router (which happens to be one of the top sites I've visited recently) it pops up a dialogue asking for me to login in order to display the preview.

I've already condensed my entire Firefox UI to the titlebar anyway, and although I do like this quite a bit, it doesn't necessarily save me much space. It just makes my minimalist obsessions more practical to implement.

To start IE in fullscreen mode, just... use fullscreen mode. It saves its state automatically for next session.

I would say Freeman, but there'd be no dinner conversation.

Samus started gettin' chatty recently. But she'd monologue all night.

I'm thinking Coach. He's too awesome.

Microsoft rolls out new Bing Rewards incentive program

You don't have to settle with 8 points a day. Just click all the links in the "current offers" section and net almost 30 more.

If I can somehow hide the Bing bar so it doesn't take up so much space, this could be worthwhile.

I was going to pronounce it "quill".
