Ghostbusters LittleBigPlanet DLC coming this week

Jul 13th 2009 12:03PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Costumes look great, except the slimer one...

I agree with Paul. This game has thousands of user created levels. I've played many that were very good. I don't see why people (including Joystiq) are complaining for MM to create more levels. This game was designed for the community to build upon.

The DLC that MM makes available is designed to keep the game up to date and add some radical characteristics to Sackboy. When it comes to newly created levels the task is rightfully in the hands of the community. If it wasn't for the hard work of the community, LBP would be old news. As far as MGS4 Online goes, players can't create their own levels so it's Konami's responsibility to create them.

Three million people played Dead Space

I bought it, finished it, and still have it. It's a great game. I'm currently not motivated to play it through again, but that may change in the future if I have a nostalgic moment.

MGS4 / Killzone 2 PS3 bundle available ... now!

How Ironic!
@ Neuromancer

Actually, you should move on. You're the X360 fan trying to convince PS3 owners to believe in your twisted logic. The 360 forum is that way --->

I'm sure there you'll find a more soothing audience to agree with your point of view.

Thanks for dropping by.

Down voting isn't good enough anymore. We need a delete post button to appear after a couple of down votes, or a button that moves the down voted post to a website with photos of old wrinkly people getting sun tans.

Fewer than 1 in 3 PS3 systems connected to PlayStation Home

Jun 25th 2009 5:59PM (Joystiq)
I don't really see the point the writer is trying to make here. Home isn't for everyone and not everyone who has a PS3 bought it for socializing or even playing games. PS3 is an entertainment tool. Some use it for movies, others for games, both, etc.

This may come as a shock, but not everyone who has a next gen system plays their games online. That's right; there are some 360 / PS3 owners who don't care for online gaming. Does that mean the online feature of games is a waste of time? No.

The bottom line success story of Home is based on how much money it makes for Sony, not how many people in the overall community use the service. Can they make more money if they get more people to log into Home? Perhaps, if those people buy virtual items, but that doesn't mean it's not profiting Sony right now. You will never get 100% participation in any game or service no matter how good it is. That's just the reality.

Final Fantasy XIII producer looking into downloadable demo for the West

May 6th 2009 2:38PM (Joystiq)
Does Square expect people to swallow such BS? When it released the demo in Japan as a PS3 exclusive, it didn’t see it as being unfair to those who own 360's in Japan???

Yeah the number of 360 owners isn't as impressive there as it in the U.S. but if they're going to argue being "fair" to 360 owners, how do they justify shafting 360 owners in one region to patronize owners in another?

The real deal is that:
:
Square-Enqix has and will always be bias against the non-Japanese customers. It still doesn't realize that it wouldn't be half as successful as it is now if it were not for gamers living OUTSIDE of Japan.

Wake up Square! There is life outside of Japan! Stop your lies and bias business practices and you may make more money than you thought possible.

Hideki Kamiya hopes Bayonetta will be 'sadistically hard'

There is a difference between a challenging game and an annoyingly difficult game.
If a publisher is going to make a game challenging, then the controls, character / enemy balance, and in game options have to be tuned correctly. Giving enemies cheap overpowering abilities just makes games frustrating.

Similar to what was already mentioned, I play games to release stress and have fun. I don't shy away from challenging games, but I don't have the desire to muddle through games that are extremely difficult just for the sake of being so.

The whole purpose of having difficulty settings is to allow the player to set the challenge. When a game set to normal is hair-pulling difficult, it's no longer enjoyable.

This game looks and plays so much like Devil may Cry. I like the choice of having a female character, but I think she's could use a few pounds.

I’m probably going to pass on this one. I enjoyed Devil may Cry, but I don’t see myself buying an extremely difficult clone for full price.

Street Fighter IV rankings separate Hadouken from Gadouken

Mar 26th 2009 12:59PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Rose is at the bottom because there aren't enough players who are good with her or even play her. If players can master Dan then it's clear that they can kick arse with Rose if they put the same amount of commitment and effort into mastering her.

Rose is my main. I've had quite a few victories with her as well. I'm sort of happy that she's not as common as Ken. So it's a breath of fresh air when I go against "staple" Street Fighter characters.

I love to see the hesitation players go through when they don't have a clue on how to deal with her.

There are plenty of YouTube videos of some good Rose players. She may be at the bottom of this chart, but she rocks in others.

Uncharted dev: Nathan Drake already as big as Lara Croft

Jan 21st 2009 10:00AM (Joystiq Playstation)
You're assuming the creators of Uncharted were inspired by Tomb Raider, which isn't necessarily the case. Gamers too often compare new games to existing ones, because it's easier to relate to a game can shove in an existing category. (example: shooter XYZ is like Gears of War, action adventure XYZ is like God of War, etc).

Uncharted in some ways is like Tomb Raider, but in other ways it isn't. I personally never enjoyed Tomb Raider combat.

I hate how Laura could take repeated shot gun blasts at point blank range and still down 7+ people with her 9mms. It's like those boobs are Bullet Proof. The combat in the game is too "run and gun" for my taste. I prefer Uncharted, you take a couple of shots and you're swimming with the fishes and you actually have to use cover and tactics to survive.

To be fair, Uncharted pirates took a bit much to down in turn, but headshots always works. One shot, one kill.

Home's director Buser keynotes Engage! Expo in March

Hmm, $595.00 for the early bird special? That's another PS3 and some games...nah, I'll stream the video clips and articles.

It's a shame that this event falls outside of my acceptable price range. It would have been interesting to actually test the latest virtual tech.
