Ad critic: Lara's booty too big to believe? [update 1]

Apr 14th 2006 2:15PM (Joystiq)
I can't believe someone at Joystiq just said "badonkadonk". That sounds like the spelling of some Donkey Kong sound effects. WTF.

Adams on the state of RTS

Apr 12th 2006 3:58PM (Joystiq)
I've been a pretty big fan of RTS' for multiplayer fun, on a small scale (me and friends vs the Hard enemy onos!) and doing the campaign. I thoroughly enjoyed Age of Mythology and Rise of Nations, and even do enjoy a game or two of Warcraft and Starcraft. I'm just too casual for those kinds of games to play on 'the ladder' or anything.

Would I play 'em on a console? Maybe, if they got the controls right. I'd be a bit cynical about my experience with it though, but I'm pretty open.

Girl gamer recruitment good reality TV?

Apr 11th 2006 3:48PM (Joystiq)
It's not the fact that it's a girl that's gaming that irks me about this, it's the fact that they're parading themselves around and in some people's eyes, hurting the cause of competitive gaming. Yes, girls that game are hawt but that's mostly because they... can game. The b00bz are like a bonus or something.

I mean, if they had a D&D table set up with a dedicated group made up of "beautiful people" and having a contest to see who the last member of the party would be, I'd still feel the same way.

Maybe it's the thought that the people involved are 'selling out', not going with the Spirit of Gaming that dictates that all the other stuff is fluff - what matters at the end of the day is that there is pwnage.

Or something.

The ladies of Oblivion drop their tops

Apr 7th 2006 12:56PM (Joystiq)
First, the obligatory "OMGB00BZ".

I'm surprised our ever-popular Mr. Thompson hasn't jumped on this some way, some how. Considering the sheer popularity of the game you'd think he'd be on it like a pit bull on a pork chop.

Elder Scrolls IV: Nickel and Dimed

Apr 4th 2006 5:54PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Y'know, the $2.50 is a bit much but what would incense me is that if you click on that link another poster put up with the oblivion store showing the horse for $1.99, but then also shows two mini-expansions for the same price.

Despite popular opinion, not all of us ate paint chips as children.
