I think if you've added a reasoned response to the topic that is clearly more than just copy and pasted, then it's perfectly acceptable to link to one of your sites at the end of your post, especially if you aren't deceptive about where the link leads.
Also, why do I have to click a confirmation email even when I post using "Returning" and input my email and password? And why does TUAW's iPhone site not allow you redirect to view the full site (clicking the link takes you back to the iPhone site)? Is it me, or does TUAW have no way to send concerns like these to the site itself, rather than spamming the comments with them?
Obviously I'm annoyed at them hacking the MacRumors stream, and I in no way condone it, but what a total waste. They post numerous messages about how everyone, including them, is gay, rather than trying to cause some real mischief that might make real news. If they'd been silent and subtle in their takeover of the stream they could have announced any new products they wanted, the retirement of Steve Jobs, new iPhones that cost $99 with no contract etc.
If you're going to do something stupid, at least show a bit of creativity.
I really don't get why everyone talks about Phil as if he's untested. I saw him give the keynote at the Paris Apple Expo a few years back and he did a good job. He didn't have the easy charisma or presence that Jobs has, but he still put on an entertaining show, and by the end of it I'd cut off a leg to get one of the new iMacs. I think he'll do a great job and don't see what all the fuss is about.
I absolutely adore LaunchBar. I use it constantly and it's the very first thing I install on any Mac. Not sure if the update will be worth extra for, but it's great to see they're still committed to such a fantastic app!
One more to add to the list of people after a free license! I'm afraid the best I can offer you is a free copy of DockLock (http://www.armelline.com/) and a copy of my upcoming iPhone game if Apple ever finish reviewing my application!
I have a friend over who's trying to post a comment. Whenever he enters his name and email into the comment boxes and adds his comment the confirmation email gets sent to me, despite my clearing the cookies. They link comments to IP addresses? Not sure what I think about that...
I cannot express how much I dislike the new design. Ugly, overcrowded and confused. Might even be enough to put me off visiting entirely, but I'll try not to be overdramatic! :P
Even if you ignore the issues of flash and java, the iPhone still doesn't bring you even close to the whole internet. It has no usenet support, for one thing. Out of the box it has no IM support, no IRC support, no FTP support... the list goes on. It is wildly misleading and wholly inaccurate to claim the iPhone has the whole internet. It doesn't even have the whole web, and the web does not equal the internet.
