Fanswag: win a custom Mass Effect Xbox 360 Elite [update]

Mar 18th 2008 6:02PM (Joystiq Xbox)
After my family was wiped out in an attack by Batarian slavers, I could only hold back my grief by playing my XBOX360. It's the only enjoyable past-time I had. Until a roaming Tourian Engineer Overloaded it. Now my dear friend suffers the Red Ring of Death. Please award me this new system.

Too Human clip gives us best idea of game in years

My 2¢,

This game started on the original PLAYSTATION as a matter of fact, and was originally some futuristic cop/noir along the lines of Blade Runner. Your character was some bald-headed guy named John Franks. Look it up.

Then it migrated to the Gamecube, where it was then made into some geno-drama, and no one knew what the HELL the game was about.

Now it's (supposedly) hitting the 360, and it's Norse mythology???

This is a case of a developer having a pet project (Mr. Dyak, I'm looking at you) and not being able to either:

A) Let go, because it just isn't going to work

B) Can't leave well enough alone, because he feels his professional reputation is at stake

Personally, I think this game smacks of design by committee and has so many bells and whistles that it has no hope of being anything better than an "also-ran".

Mass Effect allows lesbian alien sex, men remain vanilla

Sep 18th 2007 6:20PM (Joystiq)
Having read the "Revelation" Mass Effect novel, I give my 2¢:

The Asari race (the blue aliens with flesh-locks) are all female in appearance. Therefore, whether your character is male or female, they could both possibly have sexy-time with a "female alien".

Controversy = put to rest.

Destructible game, Fracture, announced for 2008

May 3rd 2007 2:02PM (Joystiq)
Anyone else remember Magic Carpet? You could create volcanoes, and rain meteors down on your opponents. Both of which complete ruined the, at the time billed as, "fractal" landscape.

This type of landscape deformation has been around in this exact form for over a decade. The technology hasn't changed, they've just slapped hi-rez textures on it and called it a day.

I for one would like to see fully independent destructible MAN-MADE objects in game. Much like those demoed in the above mentioned "Force Power Demo". Throwing storm troopers through columns, then the whole shmere at an approaching tie-fighter sounds AWESOME.

You guys are forgetting that jumping was accomplished by pressing diagonals:

Prince of Persia XBLA + Xbox360 D-pad= ULTIMATE FRUSTRATION.
