High quality games are unsupportable on Android. There are no Android tablet with a GPU as powerful as the one in the iPad 2. The Tegra 3 is the only capable GPU and it is still slower than the iPad 2.

Pretty much 80% of Android devices have inferior GPU which is why so many games are JAVA or Flash quality games. No native accelerated games except the ones that are optimized for Tegra.

So, why would a developer release a high quality game with such a fragmented hardware market?

Best shooter on iOS, played it non-stop. Great graphics, sound, and the controls are actually very smooth.

Sony tester spent two hours dying on the 1st level. Of course, they wouldn't publish a game this challenging as compared to God of Wars mindless button mash.

That's because everyone wants iPads and tablets. Drawing games and apps are plentiful on the AppStore who wants to pay $50 for a peripheral that can't even take with you and cost $30-50 for each new game.

If they make a kinect hentai game where you get to perform touching action on those anime girl chars then they would get hoards of Japanese guys to buy it.

How about DOA volleyball again?

With the iPhone, it's the same thing as the MP3 player changing the rules of music CDs.

You and I are paying $16.99 back in 2001 for a hit CD with 2 good songs and 10 crappy ones.

Today, for $9.99 you can download the entire album or just $0.99 for each song and people will spend an average $4 and buy their favorite songs.

The same will apply to the gaming world, people will download their games and as long as there are cheap thrills for free or for $0.99 they will get their gaming fix without paying $30 for a Nintendo DS game.

Then there are the rental business where many gamers will go 1-3 months and rent a bunch of games for $20 a month and for the price of 1x $60 game, they get to play like $1000 worth of games.

The news is grim for Nintendo. They have procrastinated far too long. They forgot the generation that bought everything they make is no longer interested nor have the time to buy their gimmick products. This is the gen that is either starting families or moved on to bigger things.

I only see the path similar to Sega's for Nintendo..

I think the problem is when you stack healers in BG and PVP it makes balance very difficult. When we are alone, we can't stay alive for long if the DPS is smart and uses a well timed interup or spelllock.

The problem as usual, DPS is usually thick skull button mashers.

Free OS does mean there the choices will be totally free. Everything has a price and cost.

3DS sales are pathetic because tablet/smartphone gaming is cutting into them and will never recover. There will be hardcore gamers that will stay with regular consoles but a good chunk of casual gamers will probably never return to traditional consoles.
