Reminder: Design a Joystiq T-shirt and win a console with games!

No, Joystiq. That was not the last winning T-shirt. I should know.

The Misunderstoods are real-life Fruit Ninjas

There already is a Kinect version of Fruit Ninja (kinda): it's a Volleyball minigame in Kinect Sports. Characters serve fruit your way and you're supposed to smack them. You're also supposed to avoid the random bombs they throw.... I thought of Fruit Ninja the second I tried this.

Wii bowling "power throws": Whither the perfect 890?

When I had a loaner unit from Nintendo (that I reluctantly returned) in January, my wife trumped my power bowling score by snagging a 750 or something in that region....maybe I'll have to go get my own Wii just for this....but what if I already have a Joystiq t-shirt? =)

Why in the world would they expect to pay $50 for a 1GB Secure Digital card? Newegg has them for $11 to $12... and even Best Buy offers a pack of three 1GB cards for about $50...

Engadget HD giveaways: win a Samsung HL-S5679W DLP with LED backlight

I'd love to hook up my Xbox 360 to that TV. Heck, I'll even dig out my Atari Jaguar for some old school, pixelated goodness.

Contra storms XBLA, original titles to follow this holiday, Atari classics in '07

I know it's a long shot, but I'm crossing my fingers that the Tempest remake includes Jeff Minter's Tempest 2000. Heck, we've heard he's working on something for Xbox, might as well be this...

Halo, the Latin epic

A fascinating read and I rather like the way it's presented on that site. Right now, my only minor quibble is the repeated assertion that Master Chief is a Marine. He's not, at least, not from what I've read. In the book series, he's a member of the Navy and the friction between him and a Marine underlies much of Dietz's novelization of the first game. Oh well.

Picture it: the first paradox of gaming

At 26, I feel like I'm in a sweet spot as far as time versus money. The best age to decipher a graph properly seems debatable, apparently.

However, I'm also a newspaper reporter, so my disposable income probably isn't nearly as sizable as my fellow college grads at this point in their lives. That said, I feel like right now I do have decent time for gaming and some money left over here and there to buy games.
I do, however, feel the time crunch coming. My wife and I are still trying to figure out when we should start having kids. I don't think "can it wait til after Halo 3 comes out?" would go over too well.

How can you mention the University of South Carolina and not mention their most excellent mascot, the Gamecock...=). I'll let you guess what the abbreviated name is. Anyways, excellent idea and performance... I'd love to see this in person.

PAX: Alex St. John's keynote of infamy

Dang, if I had just stuck my hand out, I could have caught the prized ping pong ball and came home with a new computer. Hardly anyone on my side of the theater seemed to notice the ball came flying past them. Darn media ethics =).
