Battlefield 3 Console review: Squad score bonus

@pukel

It's not input lag unless your controller or ps3 is broken. Try lowering the controller sensitivity. I was all over the place too until I lowered it several notches to maybe 15-20% of the bar and now it feels perfect and not laggy at all.

Rates for cloud servers at amazon and other places are far from reasonable compared to hosting your own servers. This happens to be the industry I work in so I'm intimately familiar with the pricing models.

The problem is that cloud computing is very expensive compared to buying and hosting your own hardware. Cloud services aren't the answer to as many problems as people think. Since Battlefield 3's dedicated servers will remain free aside from optional DLC I expect EA to keep hosting their own dedicated servers rather than the more expensive could services.

I am another PS3 user with no downtime and I've been playing 6-10 hours a day since Tuesday. It sounds to me like they planned better for the PS3 community.

Man, all this server trouble for Battlefield. I have yet to see the PS3 servers go down and I've been playing 6-10 hours every day since launch.

Does anyone know how to change your name? "Go to your profile" and clicking (Unverified) just takes me to a list of my comments.

@Mcmax3000

I think the servers being down at all is a shame, as that isn't the case on PS3, but it's good to hear DICE did a decent job on all the platforms. Things are usually exaggerated on the internet.

Except that day it was down completely, right? :)

It isn't noted in the review, but the PS3 version's multiplayer is running much better than the 360 version. Matches for the game are always available and run well. There is sometimes a bit of rubber banding from lag, but it's mostly uncommon. Getting into games alone is easy and consistent. I haven't experienced any multiplayer drops or glitches yet and I've been playing for over a dozen hours in matches (probably 16-20 including suad chat, soldier customization, matchmaking, lobbies, and menus overall). It can, however be difficult to get a whole squad into the same game or on to the same side. Often what happens is you'll be split up across squads and sides until the next map when the game automatically puts you back together on one side. Hopefully this is fixed as more matches become available with the growing user base.

Arthur doesn't like it, so that means I probably will. Cool deal. Thanks for the Rage recommendation too, Arthur!
