10.5.2 makes your WoW go faster

Feb 11th 2008 11:11PM (TUAW.com)
There were some nasty graphical issues that specifically affected Leopard running on Nvidia Geforce 5200 graphics cards... which is exactly what's in my powerbook.

Just loaded up WoW after upgrading to 10.5.2 and these graphical issues have disappeared, hurray!

Adium 1.2 beta sneaks out for Christmas

I love Adium ^_^
To my knowledge there isn't an IM client for Windows that's as nice to use. Well, if there is then I don't know anybody that uses it. All of my windows using friends are really impressed when they see Adium running on my powerbook

More integrated graphics from Apple

May 16th 2006 2:45PM (Joystiq)
There is now one thing missing from Apple's product range: An intel based compact mid-range laptop with the 'pro' features of the larger 15 and 17inch models. Previously this was the 12inch G4 powerbook but it has been discontinued as of today with the release of these new macbooks.

I personally couldn't see Apple leaving such a gap in the product range, especially as the 12inch powerbook was so popular.
I fully expect to see a new macbook introduced in the next 6 months, something with a half decent dedicated graphics chip and sitting in between the macbooks and macbook pro's pricewise... fingers crossed!

Wii impressions: WarioWare Smooth Moves

May 10th 2006 8:50PM (Joystiq)
oh come oooon. 'i don't see it holding up to the solo wank' ffs how many people bought Wario Ware for cube and then effing played it solo. I've not once sat down on my own to play it but when friends are around then it gets given a good bashing. i hate this kind of journalism of smart remarks surely everybody realises that when we see the clips of wario ware and watersporrrr.. sorry wii sports we just get a sensation in our mouthes that just says 'I can so see myself having a great night with b33rs and friends'... it just seems like stating the obvious to say 'but it's not gonna be great on your own'.
Look everyone knows that lonely players will be catered for sitting alone wanking over HD lush graphics on their PS3's playing OMG GRAPHICS FPS 4 TEH SEXE all on their own, they're not even going to take a second look at anything that even has a hint of FUN, for the rest of us please don't dumb it down, we've played Bishi Bashi Special.., we've played Fuzion Frenzy because it's fucking FUN. WE know WHY we want to pwn our friends in deadly console combat of party game combat and now all of a sudden nintendo are fuelling these exact desires and emotions. Don't dumb it down, give us some respect. And most of all, ENJOY!

Apple's official Mac gaming solution: Windows

Apr 6th 2006 8:54AM (Joystiq)
I've got a shuttle PC with Radeon X800XT that I use only for gaming. I do EVERYTHING else on my Powerbook and it's been really frustrating having to do so much on my laptop when I'd rather use my more powerful main desktop for general tasks. I've also resented having to spend out so much on keeping an upto date PC just for playing games, it's like spending £1000+ on a games console.
Now this will no longer be a problem, I just need to wait for the desktop intel Powermac successor, spec it out with a high end graphics card and I can finally say goodbye to my PC and can finally do everything I need on just one machine, yay!
