Turok to rock Turok animated film

Oct 24th 2007 2:53AM (Joystiq)
I'm looking forward to Turok: Son of Stone; I just hope it has the Chronocepter (I believe that was the name of the big, blue gun you had to assemble in Turok for Nintendo 64).

Bionic Commando trailer swings in with game footage

The Bionic Commando trailer is pretty sweet. I'm really looking forward to learning and seeing more of this project.

Capcom announces Street Fighter IV

Oct 17th 2007 6:06PM (Joystiq)
To upz:
Since I'm a journalist in the videogame industry, oftentimes developers will shed some confidential light on a game in the works, but request you not speak of it, until an official press release. This was the case with both Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Street Fighter IV (as well as other games, but that's besides the point).

There is still a lot for me to learn about this game, but I'm very happy that it's now out in the open.

Super Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix looks awesome. With this and Street Fighter IV, Capcom is pleasing millions of people, all around the world. Man, what an excellent day.

Capcom announces Street Fighter IV

Oct 17th 2007 5:24PM (Joystiq)
Ah, what a relief! I can now talk freely with the rest of the world about Street Fighter IV! I’ve known about this Capcom project for ages, but have been under embargo all this time. This was probably the biggest story/scoop I ever had and am absolutely ecstatic that Capcom has finally went public with it. That was an absolutely gorgeous trailer. Thank you so much to everyone at Capcom for making the dreams of millions, finally come true. It was well worth the wait.

Now we need to find out the extra details, like, which classic characters are returning to the game aside from Ryu and Ken, what's the music like, will the game come out on Wii, which is the #1 best selling next-gen console, world wide, if there are multiple versions, will they differ at all from Wii to Xbox 360 to PS3, etc. There's a lot more to find out, but this is a brilliant way to start shaking things up.

And on a slightly different note, but still fighting game related, will Capcom have any part in Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Brawl? How cool would it be if Mega Man or Ryu/Ken was playabe in that game? Sega has Sonic, Konami has Solid Snake, and Capcom, my personal favorite 3rd party company, should also have some representation.

October 17th, 2007 will forever go down in history as a true, MEGATON day.

Today's most vertigo-inducing video: Portal Lvl. 13 Time Challenge

Oct 14th 2007 1:27PM (Joystiq)
I'm having a lot of fun with Portal. It's really quite a creative game and hope that with The Orange Box, a lot of people experience it. I wonder what the quickest times in these levels will be a couple months from now.

Wii vs. Vii: Sincere flatterii

Oct 13th 2007 1:57PM (Joystiq)
Wow, there's such a thing as imitation, and then there's this. Vii takes things to a whole new level, that's for sure. I wonder what Nintendo thinks of this Wii knock off.

LGC07 hands-on: Zack & Wiki

Aug 28th 2007 2:27PM (Joystiq)
I've been hearing nothing but good things about Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure for Wii...well, other than the name, perhaps. It's looking to be quite solid and original; nice job Capcom.

GameStop has record second quarter profits

Aug 23rd 2007 3:40PM (Joystiq)
I wonder if just how GameStop achieved record second quarter profits, will they do the same come this holiday season.

Seriously, with DS and Wii being the nonstop juggernauts that they are, Xbox 360 having huge titles like Halo 3 and Bioshock, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Guitar Hero III, Madden NFL 2008, Rock Band, and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass all debuting, I think this will be the biggest year ever in the history of our videogame industry.

I'm excited.

PS3 Fanboy interview: Udon Comics and Street Fighter

Oh, and here's one other picture that I meant to put in earlier, but didn't:

Sorry, I hope it's not considered spamming, but I think the shot is kinda cool (with the sky looking like the waterfall in the painting).
