How much is an hour of gaming worth?

Dec 1st 2006 4:08PM (Joystiq)
Length *is* pretty important, but not when it really isn't fun and feels tacked on *coughOkamicough*

Famitsu reviews five PS3 launch games

Nov 1st 2006 4:56PM (Joystiq)
Gah, I can't believe people actually *like* ridge racer. And I am not saying this out of spite of the keynote. I have played a few earlier versions of it, and jesus christ, the handling is ridiculus. It is like playing mario kart with the graphics of gran turismo.

Comparing the Virtual Console launch by region

Nov 1st 2006 4:47PM (Joystiq)
Holy shit, gunstar heroes! Best genesis game there is. Also looking forward to Wario's Woods, which is what i spent 99% of my time in Animal Crossing playing.

Bit disappointed about the lack of super mario, world, and zelda. But they will be there soon enough... right?

Goldeneye throwback maps for download, Xbox Goldies only

Awesome. Facility was the most awesome level ever.

Hope you can still do the spin trick to get back into the bathroom vents ;)

Halo movie post-pwned by Microsoft and Jackson

Oct 31st 2006 1:36PM (Joystiq)
@people talking about final fantasy movies:

Remember, final fantasy games are not *supposed* to have sequels, which is why the movie wasn't a continuation of any story. Of course, this was before X-2.

And Advent Children sucked.

Boo! Scariest moments in gaming history

Oct 31st 2006 1:31PM (Joystiq)
God damn it, Eternal Darkness was scary. When statues start staring at you, and places you think are safe are really full of monsters, it really starts getting to you. Once I hit the point where you were the guy from some old war, and you walk into some room with no gun and some demon racing after you, I just said "this is too much", and haven't played since.

Battlefield 2142 employ spies in your PC [update 1]

Oct 17th 2006 3:12PM (Joystiq)
...Why do they need to sell advertising in game? We bought the damn game, right?

Besides, Battlefield 2142 would be *awesome* played offline!

PS3 bitten by Yellow Dog Linux

Oct 17th 2006 2:54PM (Joystiq)
@AirIntake

600 dollars is the price of a computer? Maybe a *cheap* one. If this ran linux, it would be a hell of a deal. I would buy a ps3 if it ran an actual, real version of linux.

More in-game commentary coming next-gen?

Oct 17th 2006 2:44PM (Joystiq)
See, the one problem with the commentary track is it takes you out of the game. The suspense of disbelief, really. The only time I would listen to the commentary track is on the second playthrough, but I don't always want to, really.

Putting it in Lost Coast was a great idea, because it was short, and easily played through a second time.

Then again, I have yet to get Episode one (though, I plan to soon). Here's hoping to two playthroughs..

PS3 wins paper console war: 360, Wii, and publicists cry foul!

Oct 10th 2006 6:38PM (Joystiq)
Ok, wtf. The game library aspect is pure bullshit. They say zelda is something that cant be ignored... AND THEN IGNORE IT.

The wii will win in game number and quality, hands down. Not even to mention the virtual console.

This article is some serious bullshit.
