SWTOR Senior Community Manager responds to high-res texture concerns
Jan 11th 2012 2:17PM (Massively)CERN's LHC 'First Beam' to be broadcast live on Wednesday
Sep 9th 2008 12:41PM (Engadget)Do I need to break out your tinfoil hat for you? You seem to be teetering on the edge of insanity.
The Last Guy teaser site opens
Jul 9th 2008 9:43AM (Joystiq Playstation)The game is actually connected to Google Earth and you use are "The Last Guy" and you have to escort groups of people away from hordes of Zombies. While escort scenarios in games are like the BANE of every players existence I can imagine that a concept built -AROUND- the idea of group escort using something as high-tech as Google Earth would be kinda sweet.
Guess we'll just have to wait until friday to find out the whole story.
Warner drops HD DVD, goes Blu-Ray only
Jan 11th 2008 10:40AM (Joystiq Xbox)My friend, you are a douchenozzle.
Also, the biggest backer in HD-DVD adult media, Digital Playground, has switched to backing Blu-Ray and has already opened up 7 titles which will be sold from their marketplace for the BR format. Why? Well, according to the CEO of DP it was due to consumer demand.
Oh, I would just like to point out that Warner Bros. did -not- take a sum of 400 million $$$ just to switch to Blu-Ray exclusivity. The President of WB has even confirmed that they did not take a payoff. Why would i take his word? Because the deal would have HAD to have been made public. A business transaction like that can't be made behind the scenes and it would technically be illegal to say "we didnt take money" if in fact they did.
The deal with Paramount was different because they never offered any response to the deal of taking 150 million from Toshiba to back them exclusively. Paramount never denied it and when the financial reports came out they finally admitted to it, but they never EVER denied it.
Also, the numbers in BD were already strong. The sales of BD players after Black Friday outsold the HD-DVD stand alone players every week and have continued to do so (this information does not include the PS3) not to mention BD movie sales trump the HD-DVD sales in every market worldwide. Hell, if it wasn't for the american market trying to go for the cheaper alternative HD-DVD would have died long ago. The Asian and European markets have strongly been held in BD's favor and not by small margins either.
Also, where is your proof or source of information regarding Sony buying off anything with the PSX? OR is that just some kind of inaccurate piece of fanboy drivel that you spout out on a daily basis.
Look , you support the HD-DVD format and that is just fine. Everyone is entitled to their preferences and their opinions BUT you are pretty close to just downright lying about everything. So, I felt that it was necessary to thouroghly educate you in the subject. Also, why would anyone who so adamantly speaks out against Sony and the Playstation, in fact, own a PS3? You, my friend, are a walking idiosyncracy.
European PSN updates for January 10th
Jan 10th 2008 2:58PM (Joystiq Playstation)As it stands right now the US store gets a few rock band songs. Oh boy, everyone who doesnt own RockBand just shouts out a "GEE EFFIN' THANKS" to the US store.
Sucks.
Rumor: Development on Uncharted 2 has been approved
Jan 3rd 2008 5:46PM (Joystiq Playstation)Star Trek Online dev sued by PR firm
Dec 12th 2007 11:47AM (Joystiq)Although, at least Trilobyte at least put out two wonderful games before they imploded in on themselves. Perpetual just made a lot of promises and then got infected with the EPIC FAIL! bug.
Warhawk expands in December with new maps, dropship
Nov 26th 2007 11:28AM (Joystiq)1) The community is holding up really well. There are usually between 250-500 servers active during the week depending on the day.
2) I haven't seen anyone continue the trend of "camping the base" to get points on returning the flag. Mainly because any team that still does this gets trounced by the other team effectively running all over them because they've holed themselves up in a corner and usually get blasted to death and its a complete shut out.
3) Chris: This is a Sony Santa Monica Studio game which was made by Incognito...which is owned by SCE. The chances of this ever coming to XBL is 0.0%
4) Night time warfare? Heeellllll yeeeaaaahhhhh! Should make some interesting situations and if they add night-vision for sniper scopes.....ohhhh....that should prove to be interesting as well.
Maybe in the next update they'll include weather effects in the new maps as well. Like...snow/rain/hurricane or something.
Just a few bits of information regarding the update. The Dropship only appears on the -LARGE- versions of each map. Medium and Small maps usually dont have tanks or homing missle turrets so dont expect the dropship to appear on those maps.
Also, the expansion pack is supposed to hit along with the 1.2 version of Warhawk so expect a patch along with it. This patch deals with alot of issues people have been having and the most important glitch fix EVER. The dreaded "invisible tank" bug which makes opponents tanks invisible on the map.
Sony set to launch its biggest hardware ad campaign
Nov 2nd 2007 9:38AM (Joystiq Playstation)That has got to be the best advertisement I have ever seen since the Gears of War ad. If you really look at the ad and how it is synced with the music it's actually VERY impressive.
The best part has to be when the song says "Please come inside" and it shows the welcome mat that says "Welcome HOME" I was all like *goosebumps*
PS3 Eternal Sonata gets plenty of bonus content
Oct 31st 2007 11:12PM (Joystiq Playstation)I went to the Namco-Bandai website the other day and I noticed that all of the PS3 information for Eternal Sonata had been taken down. When I emailed NB about why the info had been taken down they sent me this email:
"Thank you for contacting Namco Bandai's Customer Support Department.
Eternal Sonata has already been released and is available for purchase for the Xbox 360. We have not made any official announcement about other platforms and apologize for any confusion caused by the erroneous web site listing.
Please feel free to contact us again in the future as the need arises"
Now, they said in the email that it was an "erroneous web site listing" yet did we not actually see pictures and videos at TGS 07 followed by an announcement that this was actually happening?
If so then why has Namco-Bandai suddenly gone hush hush about this? Also, why are they still releasing "extra-content" information when they are still denying a PS3 port?
I hope that this one Customer rep was just off his rocker and completely crazy. I really want to play Eternal Sonata on my PS3 but I'm kinda having a hard time figuring out just what the hell NB is up too.
