Rendered Speculation: Saab 9-1 gets drawn up

Mar 5th 2010 5:40PM (Autoblog)
Proof that there is hope for humanity yet! These tears are tears of joy, my friends.

Garage door company latest to take advantage of Toyota in tasteless way

It was the "20% off" bit that got me.

Geneva 2010: Carlsson C25 is a 753-horsepower twin-turbo terror

I wonder what it would be like to drive a car that literally eats the road as it throws the planet into a reverse spin.

Geneva 2010: Abarth Punto Evo takes the next step

Mar 4th 2010 12:17PM (Autoblog)
I like the aesthetic of the 500 more, but i think the Abarth Punto has always been one of my reasonable dream cars. I imagine its a good feeling to lift a tire with groceries in the back. (I own a Miata, so when I try to do that they slide out of the passenger seat and into my lap.)

Geneva 2010: Techart debuts trifecta of tuned Porsches

Mar 4th 2010 11:31AM (Autoblog)
When it comes to most tuners, I just want to turn the other way and cry because of what they had done to such beautiful cars. However, Porsche tuners like Techart and (I know I know) RUF always do such a good job aesthetically on already good looking cars and turn them into real head-turners and performance beasts. Keep it up, guys! At least until I can afford one...

Geneva 2010: Ruf RGT-8 is a V8-powered, 550-hp 911

Mar 3rd 2010 11:15PM (Autoblog)
I love RUF with such enormous passion. In fact, I dare say the only reason I love Porsche is because I could never afford a RUF.

Geneva 2010: King Saud University Gazal-1 is one whopper of a student project

Mar 3rd 2010 2:46PM (Autoblog)
And of course the first thing I notice is the Miata style daisy wheels.

Geneva 2010: Evorified 2011 Lotus Elise shows its new nose

Mar 2nd 2010 7:23PM (Autoblog)
Very slick, although, I think this will further the plight of the Lotus owner, hearing the dreaded question, "who makes lotus?" At any rate, I personally think the aesthetic of the original 111 was the best, not only handling like a go kart, but looking like one as well. The core of any Lotus has never been looks, yet this more sane, grounded and even mainstream look will certainly help them get more cars on the road, while the Exige can still be covered in fins, inlets, and what other body bits they choose to add.

Geneva 2010: Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid is not to be overlooked

Mar 2nd 2010 3:17PM (Autoblog)
All this hybrid hate is a little unreasonable, I think. They have the same (or better) performance, they look the same, but they get significantly better mileage than their petroleum siblings. If the technology exists for performance and economy to coexist, its ridiculous to only take one or the other. 6-8 seconds of overtaking can really do a lot of good, especially with that extra electric-motor torque. Diesel is great--don't get me wrong, I love them--but I wouldn't be surprised if this came around and beat them, and I certainly have no problem with their technology experimentation.
