FreeHand puts a pocket on your wrist, L on your forehead

Hey Engadget, could you guys make a separate blog where you can get your snark on or whatever and leave this one for reporting? Your articles read like the comments section. You don't need to editorialize on every damn thing.

ASUS Eee Stick motion controller brings Wii to the Eee

Thanks for your reply, for the record I wasn't seriously accusing Engadget of bias, but simply bringing to light the weird inconsistencies in their reporting, or as you call it "ridiculously slanted". Please clarify:

1.) Who "matters"? What's this mean?

2.) Why is it seen as a bad thing to call bloggers on their poor performance? They aren't reporting the news out of the goodness of their hearts, it's their _job_. We're the customers and the nice thing about blogs vs. the traditional media is we actually get to voice our opinions right here. Why would I go cry about it somewhere else?

When Asus rips somebody off Engadget is "intrigued".

When somebody besides Asus dares to make a small laptop Engadget goes into hysterics about how it's a KIRF and an EEE ripoff and how dare they rip off the poor gigantic Taiwanese conglomerate that got it's start copying motherboard designs and using sweatshop labor. Like Asus was the first company to ever make small laptops.

I've always assumed the allegations of Apple bias are ludicrous, but Asus bias? WTF?

Video: Microsoft's next-gen SYNC finds cheap gas then blows our doors off

Is this like big news because it's American companies doing it? Cars sold in Japan have had things like this in them for years and years, and more. Go to the Japanese website of Honda or somebody and see how many choices you get for equipment like this. I'm fairly sure South Korea and other technologically advanced countries have it too. This is like folks in India being blown away by the Tata Nano while the rest of the world just goes "huh?".

There is nothing innovative about Sync and pairing it to a Ford basically seals it as a product for the Wal-Mart and McDonalds demographic. I hope they are pleased with the cheap trash they asked for. I think I'll stick to imports for now, and I always check to make sure they're built in their native countries (quick hint: a "J" in the VIN number of a Japanese car usually means it's manufactured there, but check Wikipedia to be sure.. you don't want to end up with something built by idiots in Tennessee or Ohio do you?). Garbage doesn't get my money.

That's exactly what it is, comment baiting, for ad revenue and such. Pretty scummy tactics that Engadget has been using for a while, making this basically the Fox News of gadget blogs. Kind of disheartening, it used to be really good. Oh well, good thing adblock exists ;)

Oh my god you have to wear it on your FACE!? Like, that's so not stylish!

Come on Engadget, this thing actually looks useful. I had no idea I was reading a blog for fashion freaks.

I swear every article involving an HMD has you guys going off like one of those terrible gay stereotypes on the makeover/interior design shows. There's nothing at all wrong with the things.

This is basically an office full of marketing people, the only engineering going on there is social. Don't buy into it.

So basically blogs are becoming just like the old media they're trying to replace. Awesome.
