i m chinese myself.. and I have lived in china too.. i m currently living in thailand.. and i m not sayin that chinese are stupid or illiterate.. i m just considering their environment in which they are living and to what they are exposed to everyday.. and here is the perfect example of what kind of BS they can be exposed to everyday.. tv filled with corrupted ads...

Today's Vii-est video: Vii commercial

Dec 4th 2007 1:40AM (Joystiq)
watching this kind of made me sick.. the problem is that because of the vii.. chinese people may confuse it with the real wii.. the wii's aim is to broader their range of consumers by trying to reach non-gamers.. and because most non-gamers do not have much knowledge about videogames.. that is what will make chinese people believe that this is the "original" wii that some may have heard from foreign countries.. Also it will easily be mistaken for the real thing because of its similar pronunciation and I do not think that many chinese people pay much attention to the way it is written.. that is problem of the "word of mouth" concept being exploited by the chinese manufacturers...

I have met some chinese people who strongly believed and argued back that the fake stuffs they were buying were the real thing that other people in other countries were buying..

Now I really wanna see what s gonna happen when the wii will officially enter the chinese market :)

NB: they even endorsed some singaporian sportsman.. I wonder how much he got paid to say all that BS.. :S.... they even put soem western people which could really put more confusion in chinese people' heads...
