Personally I think the whole "PS2 DVD player isn't as good as a stand alone one" argument is BS. I originally bought the PS2 at launch as a DVD player and used it for a good 4 years (half of it with component video & optical out.) I started getting DREs then I was able to swap it for a new one with progressive scan and it's worked find ever since. The only problem I ever had was that it was a tad slow navigating through menus.
Anyone remember that game show where if you and your partner were the winning team, you got to run thru a maze with a velcro suit and grab games before the clock ran out? I forgot what it was called...
Dude don't bash "Do the Mario"... EVERY friend that I've brought this up with totally remembers it. I also own the DVDs for the Mario TV show AND the Zelda show.

It was an animated Johnny Arcade and the Power Team. It was characters from Acclaim and Williams games.

As for the Nickelodeon shows...those things were crap. Hell the hosts didn't even try to sound seriously interested in the game either.
@ Dave Silva:
Well technically the DVDs are put out by Nintendo, they are put out by Shout! Factory. So there is a 'slim' chance Captain N 'might' come out.
