Joyswag: win an Astro Gaming A30 headset for your games, music, phonecalls

Mar 16th 2010 6:32PM (Joystiq)
First off, I've got a baby, so everything done after 8:30pm needs to be done in ABSOLUTE SILENCE.

Second of all - I work in an office with NOTHING but women. It's me and 4 chicks in my room, and 3 in the room next to me. I need something to hug my ears as tightly as possible to keep out the cluckings of drama and emotional distress. I bet Rage Against the Machine would sound a lot sweeter than the "my idiot boyfriend" talk I hear most of the time.

Third - Modern Warfare 2 on the 360. Beaterator on the PSP. Grooveshark on my Touch Pro 2...damn, what else - Chatroulette on PC? haha

Riccitiello: 'I hate E3 like this'

Jul 18th 2008 1:12PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I work in two industries - the game industry (as a reviewer/writer), and in the print consumables industry. The Recharger convention (yes, the f'ing TONER convention) is more exciting than E3 was this year.

I understand the idea that smaller developers felt their games were being passed over for the big dog and pony shows from the big publishers...but that's a part of life. Conventions are supposed to make you excited for a product...and this year's E3 was not all that exciting. Otherwise, the devs and publishers could just mail out press kits and videos and let that be it.

I sill miss staying up all night in Wolfmap to make Wolfenstein 3D levels for my dad to play.

Blizzard designer's gamer wedding

Oct 4th 2007 12:49AM (Joystiq)
At my wedding, I was able to sneak in a couple video game songs played by our piano player during cocktail hour. I had to prepare the sheet music for him weeks ahead of time (thanks MIDIs and MIDI-to-sheet-music converters!), and had to go through some dissappointments (you mean there's NOT an easy Mega Man song for one person with TWO hands to do?). All in all, it was great - I got the Animal Crossing theme and the Legend of Zelda title screen song. Suave enough that the older crowd didn't wonder what that racket was, and recognizable enough for all of the younger crowd to give me the thumbs up as it played.

Thank you for your time.

Draw the presidents' faces on the money before your DS prints it?

It prints money, after all.

Remembering Thrill Kill, the 'other' violent AO-rated game

Jun 22nd 2007 6:12PM (Joystiq)
You know, I actually *did* see Thrill Kill on sale at Fry's Electronics back in the day. God, I might be wrong, but I seem to remember thinking about the whole controversy around it, yet didn't pick it up because I too had downloaded it.

Sure wish I had any kind of proof to back myself up :|

Bonjour! Can we give you the Ethnic Paris Cookbook?
