Considering I'm an athiest I actually put it before something that hasn't, doesn't & never will exist. Yes sold it today, a bit dissapointed really, shame they could'nt release just one game that felt fresh & addictive. My gamer tag is Yamumza Fatzlut & will more than likely me the same on PS3. My other gamer tags on PS2 were Memumza Bighor, Mike Oxonfire, Mj R Sreamer & evil ash & eventually Yamumza Fatzlut. The thing I liked about PS2 online moreso than xbox is that you can have 3 gamertags at once & you can change each of them 3 times a year without charge. 360 only allows one unless you pay $10 a pop to change it. That sucks, & seing PS3 is looking to have the single gamer tag, I will miss that about PS3. I do not care for stats or any of that, so I would be most happy if you could change your gamertag whenever you wanted yourself in the game inventories.


bd, I have tried pc, but I don't enjoy it that much, I certainly don't knock pc players unless they come out spewing crap about how fps's are sooooo much better on pc.. That may be true that some games are better suited to pc (not only fps's), but a game that is specifically programmed for consoles can be just as good as a pc equivelant... This is proven by games like Medal of honor (PS1), Goldeneye (64), Timesplitters (all consoles, although originated on ps2), cold winter (PS2) & Halo (Xbox), Blacl (all). these titles are undeniable great on consoles. I know a lot of you would not have heard of or played Cold Winter, but believe me this was an excellent PS2 FPS thta played well online & had a great goldeneyesque single player & gameplay feel to it.

Urban Chaos is supposed to be a great up & comer too. Scoring high by most journo's.

The point about the hardcore gamers is that if most duel consoles owners were left with a choice to only hacve one console with as many games as they liked, then PS would be the no brainer to pick. If you haven't owned a PS console, you simply can't attest to being a hardcore gamer. I have had PS1, N64, Sega Saturn, GC, Dreamcast, PS2, Xbox1 & a 360, not to even mention 16bit & back, & I always give a console a chance (even if I hate giving turds like bill gay-tes my money). But fact is, even with his mindblowing ammount of money, he has nothing on his consoles that get me really excited. MS does not cater to my wide variety of tastes. I often play through several games at a time, sometimes up to ten & they have all been on PS consoles due to the range & diversity of genres.
I never start just one game & finish it, I play one till I get stuck, or have had enough of it at that time, then I start the next & do the same, I continue this & return to the ones worth my time & finish them in a simlar type of fashion. It works for me as I've finished around 45-50 PS2 games.

360 needs games... Maybe then I'll by one again when they are down fron $650 Aus to about $400 Aus.

I doubt after PS3 launches though tat this will happen, as I hardly have the time for one console, let alone 3 again. I had 2 this gen that got totally neglected compared to PS2.

You see Guru I still have a vectrex, a megadrive (genesis, nes, recently sold a xbox, Snes & Saturn. I have owned all these plus a intellivision, dreamcast, I currently own a PS2 & 360 & I will buy a PS3. Fact is I have been around for a few generations & have bought several flops & learned how it all works. I see ms & Nintendo's dedicated fans get on sites & bring up that sony could fail because look what happend to nintendo & sega after the 16bit. Now what they fail to realise is that sega were half stuffed anyway & nintendo lost 95% of all 3rd party developers due to their persistance in the catridge format & high license fees for 3rd parties to use it. There is way more backstory to this in the form of nintendo asking sony to fund &develop a disk drive add on & screwing sony over when it came to crunch, karma,karma, blah,blah, blah. But the short of it is that nintendo were known for their blatent disregard for developer support & offering programming tools to make 3rd parties jobs easier. Nintendo were only worried about Nintendo & that it. Sony bashers also put crap on sony for having the most bad games... That goes without saying considering they simply have the most games full stop.
Snes was the same & genesis, they both were riddled with shitty games, everything from bad movie licences to just general unheard of crap. this is how it always works, so no relevations there.

Only thing I can say is bd, I simply will not pc game.. I hate pc's for gaming, it is strictly against my religion (Consolism). I only game on consoles, as I prefer the types of games & the controller that suits them. But I do not slam a console without reason & without owning it or giving it an extensive playtest workout. this is something I wish I did before paying the loot for my 360. At present this thing is just not providing me with the fun gameplay experiences I need. I'm not saying it never will, but I will say if it don't hurry up, it will be november, I will sell it on ebay to buy more games for my ps3. It's simple, I'll give anything a chance, if it is good, I'll admit it, but if it is not doing anything for me, I will hoik it & get something that will cater to my needs. I am confident that PS3 will fill that void.... I know what to expect on the games front from sony hardware & it will be good.

360 is graphically nice, but so was pc in PS2's prime. I did not feel inclined to take up pc gaming when the graphics were noticably better than ps2's & I see it no different with 360. Give nme an original game over the handful of pc fps handmedowns that 360 is riddled with anyday & I'll change my tune. But so far Fight night has proven to be short lived, COD is well, COD & Burnout is jsu a rebuffed current gen game.
I bought Quake4 & took it back as was laggy as hell on the (not so) PERFECT Live service, condemned got taken back as was slow & boring, hired out PDZ & it jsut showed me more evidence that rare's best developers now reside at Free Radical as it was not a patch on goldeneye.

Basically PS3 is the only next gen console I am actually excited about as a mature aged gamer (old fart to some), Revolution is not heading in any other direction that waht has become expected of nintendo for the past 11 years, so a (wave round your living room like a idiot) new controller concept doesn't float my boat. Soory Nintendo, I am happy with sitting on the couch with a traditional controller relaxing, rather than jumping round my living room like a sex starved, gay wiggle.

Yes bd, I agree that development costs will be more than PS2's for all the reasons you mentioned, but thats what I was saying, PS3 games will require the same to very similar development costs to 360's gan=mes, so prices will be the same.

Guru that looks interesting & pretty much what I would have thought. I mean it's not as if they are moving to an all new format altogether.... I mean they are, but it's basically still a disk at the end of the day. I mean it's not made out of a totally different material, like silk or something..... And the laser is reading basically the same.. just with more accuracy & precision from what I hear...... I mean it's basically a normal dvd laser on steroids, that has a blue laser light instead of red & reads better than the old blue one.

As for your gladness about 360 not including one, thats fair enough...... But I also own a 360 & a hdtv, & I am actually dissapointed that hd dvd was not included. I am also dissapointed in this new version of live, as I do not think it has evolved past the xbox1 iteration & in fact, in some ways it has gone backwards.

They have a massive selection of every type of game & 95% of them are the best in that genre.

I remember I had to have a nes & a snes because back then nintendo got the games. Now sony has taken over from them & multiplied & spread it even bigger. PS brand caters to kids, girls, men, women & entire families with it's broad range of diverse software. Thats why sony will continue it's domination. I see nothing on 360 but kameo, to cater to girl & kids, everything is for adults, same with xbox1. They never really had a defining family orientated platformer that could be held up to ratchet or jak. (even Mario has slipped below their unique qualities,as evidenced by sunshine).

Basically this is PS3 fanboy, and although I do not consider my self a fanboy (more like a fanman), I thought it would be refreshing to come onto a site specifically set up to cater to people who are generally excited, optimistic & happy for the new sony hardware. As opposed to the mentally challenged bashers in almost all other sites & bloggs. The machine looks great to me, looks nothing like a george foreman grille (although I do find the mock up hilarious), I was getting used to the baterang & was hoping to get one on launch, the writing on top looks ok to me no matter where it came from (I mean it could have been times roman numerals & fanbitches would say it's copied), & most importantly I have games that I am genuinely excirted about, original, beautiful looking games like Resistance & Motorstorm.. Then not so original classics like Unreal 2007 & Ratchet. They again, have masses of games in the pipelines.

I will be happy if the system just launches with the usual EA lineup & Unreal 2007, Resistance & Motorstorm, simply because I will only be able to afford 3 games at launch... Maybe 4 if a new timesplitters comes, like I've heard will be announced at E3 by free radical.

I'd like this to be true, but I highly doubt that MSor Nintendo would befriend the biggest in the business, when theirkey mission seems to be to destroy sony. Sony on the other hand have already stated that they'd like to work with MS in some way or another. You won't have to bother with Riddick my friend, as it's developers are working on a game for PS3.... I think it's called Dark Sector.. Can't remember name, but I read that they are definately making a PS3 exclusive game, same with the guys that done condemned for 360, they are making a new PS3 game for launch.

So out of the launch lineup I know of, I will be getting Motorstorm, Resistance & Tekken. These are all supposed to be confirmed launch titles, I just hope theres not too many more at launch of this quality as I can only really afford 3-4 on launch........and I hate choosing between 2 t things I want.

I know what your saying about 360 though, as I am currently selling mine as it is boring me & I find I am searching & reading new PS3 info more than I play it. No real killer games, an overhyped online servive that is riddled with flaws & problems from my experience, & a machine I do not have confidence in, in regards to reliability... My friend has already returned his 1st one as he was playing PGR & the polygons all went nuts, he also knows a guy that had to return his as it was getting the flashing red lights, & when I went to get a headset for mine at a local gamestore, I noticed a guy in there was swapping his. Concerned I asked what was wrong & he replied with the red light problem. This consoles propblems are not isolated cases at all. So I'm slightly concerned about mine's longuevity. It hasn't had a problem (touch wood)... But considering australia got these machines so long after the US & European release, you'd think the problems would be mostly taken care of.

Your better off waiting for the newer gen version for a lower price bd, thers is nothing on it a present worth playing for extended times, the machines are sub par at present & there is nothing on the foreseable horizon that is worth getting excited about. So wait till the price drops & then get one. As your obviously going to get a PS3 on launch & it's not worth paying through the teeth for 2 machines. Then again, you still need to buy games for 2, so save that 360 money for PS3 games. I really fail to see the games being anymore expensive than 360's.

You see I don't care about all these little features sony seem to be adding to PS3's arsenal (don't get excited, I'm more a fan of man united......, no actually, soccer is a fags game), so I am glad for PS3 to have E distrubution, a live-like online service, downloadable content, hd-dvd playback (ok, I am keen for that one as I have a hdtv) & whatever other features it comes with..... Fact is, I am buying sony's machine for exactly the same reason as I bought the last 2........ the games, the games that I know they will consistently deliver in spades..... All this other stuff is just iceing on the cake..... maybe I will use some of the list of features, maybe I won't... Who knows?, I do know for a fact that I will be using it for games & hd dvd movies & online gameplaying (especially once socom 4 comes out). So basically anyone paying out on sony for copying live features, copying nintendo, copying this, copying spiderman, all I have to say is "yer, but no, but, yer but, shut up". Sony don't need to copy crap off no-one. True gamers know what to expect out of sony hardware & more importantly software available for sony's hardware, so they will buy the machine regardless of any so called copied, tacked on features, mainstreamers will buy it when the price lowers to their range as PS has the brand recognition amongst other things like GT series, which was single handedly responsible for getting non-gaming, car enthusiests into gaming & is still the real driving sim for consoles.

So sony has THE GAMES, and some so called, copied features from live, sony's games have pushed it;s console sales to over the 100million mark, while MS console sales are just over the 24miilion mark (failing to reach a quarter of PS2's, & even teamed up with GC sales does not come to half of PS2's).

Now out of MS's 24million xbox owners only 2-2.5million are on live......... Nuff said really. Sony did not even have to bother with online gaming, they only have 3-4million online on PS2 out of 100million+ PS2 owners..... So basically sony didn't need to bother at this stage, but are anyway to cater to a niche, minority market.... Sure console online may grow next gen. to maybe a total of 6-8million, up from 5million....... But until MS, Nintendo & Sony come up with a unified online service that allows all consoles to play each other (like pc's), then full potential & customer service is not being reached. Anyone that has had PS2's & xbox1, 360's online, will be aware that if you don't buy the right games, you will have trouble or even fail to get games online. So if everyone was on the one server & I buy Darkwatch on Xbox, I have a better chance of actually getting a game over 3 lots of console users, instead of just one.

Most FPS online players will stick with pc's, so only the same crossover crowd will hit 360 up.

PS3 already has some standout games coming up....... and I'm not talking about cgi graphical domo's, I'm talking about games from developers with excellent track records like, evolution studios (motorstorm), insomniac (resistance & ratchet), & others that should be great (unreal 2007).
