Dec 28th 2006 1:20PM (Joystiq)Are you out of your friggin' mind? Now I don't care who is a Sony fan, a Microsoft fan, or a Nintendo fan. Doesn't affect my life in the least bit. But to make ridiculous comments like that doesn't help to make an argument. Especially in the current topic being discussed here.
How can the PS3 have nothing to do with gaming when games are developed for it? Why not just say it has nothing to do with Blu-ray and it is just not a trojan to get more PlayStation 3 games into peoples houses. I mean I know I bought my PS2 as a DVD player but geez when Sony started forcing all those games down my throat I just went out and bought an actual DVD player (that's sarcasm). It is an piece of hardware that Sony developed because they figured it was something that we were all going to want. I guess in about another year we'll find out whether people did actually want that or not.
I don't really think it makes much sense for anyone at this point to say that anyone has failed. The Wii is selling amazing and I can't wait to find one myself but Wii Sports while not the only good game out on the system seems to be why it is getting so much publicity so far. That will only last for so long. There is a chance that people will get tired of the Wii within the next year or it is possible that it will continue to attract people much like the DS does.
However, maybe as Sony continues to try and fix the mess they are in and people start becoming aware that it is more readily available (if it in fact is), or some must have games come out, and an eventual price drop (which is really to early to start expecting but it will come at some point), once these things begin to happen maybe they'll start pushing more units.
Anyways, basically all I'm saying is that I am more interesting in seeing the sales figures over the next year and I think it'll be exciting to watch the marketing of the big 3 and sees what pays out for the company's because when the next generation comes out well hopefully some lessons will have been learned and us consumers will be better off for it.
