I would agree with you if IGN didn't perform such a flawed test. How you can perform a HDD loading test without specifying the RPM of each consoles HDD is beyond me. Some 360 HDDs are 7200 RPM while the stock PS3 is at 5400.

Because it just puts more stress on their servers. Patch size usually isnt insignificant. Now imagine that patch getting pushed out to every person with that game even though they might not play it again. Same with auto syncing trophies, not a lot of data to sync but when you got 50 million+ people trying to sync, it's going to hit your servers hard.

For a Motorstorm game, it was an abomination. For an heavily scripted racer like Split Second, it was good.
