Crysis sold over 1.5 million copies(per EA). At $40 each(on average), that means Crysis generated $60 million in revenue. It costs them $22 million to make it. Mostly it was just a lot of complaining, because they expected to be able to sell 8 million copies like Halo or Half-life or GTA. The problem is, you really limit your customer base when you have requirements too high.
