First PS3 'custom firmware' working, doesn't allow piracy

Jan 5th 2011 11:44AM (Joystiq)
@Guts It was never 'known to be unhackable'. It was known that nobody had yet, but also that it had never REALLY been tried. When they removed Linux support, they threw down the gauntlet. They lost.

Now it's not only hacked, it's outright broken. I really don't see how they can put the genie back in the bottle this time.

NaturalMotion gives us a crash course in game physics

Wow. They lied about a some of that. They claim that they model how muscles work, and that gravity is modeled accurately...

But then they say they turned gravity off and show 2 guys running.

WRONG. You can't do that without gravity. The first step would push you upwards and that would be that. To make it worse, after they hit, they move upward a little bit... And then suddenly start moving parallel to the ground. WRONG.

I'm all for physics and all (obviously) but don't lie and say you've done more than you have.

YAY! I loved the game, but didn't want to spend much to get it again. This is perfect.

Kickstarter project aiming to make Mustache Mercenaries, a 'fun' Facebook game

First, from that video, it doesn't seem to be any different than the other mindless clicking games that are already on Facebook.

Second, if he wants donations, he should be giving away in-game things that -won't cost him anything- like a free weekly credit stipend for donators.

The number of people who donate will be rather small, and if it's a good game, a miniscule portion of the userbase. Giving them a weekly stipend of in-game credits doesn't cost anything and would a lot more likely to get donations than offering their name in the credits.

@Faenix Yeah, I was going to say you could make the same thing out of the box it came in and some tape.

Baldur's Gate 2 Complete now available from GOG

God give me strength. That game sucked up a lot of my time. I didn't really care for the first one, but BG2 really got me. I ended up going back to BG1 afterwards because I just plain wanted more after 2. And then Icewind Date 1 & 2, and... Yeah, took a long time to get out from under that.

@def PD I'd like to see it as a First Person Shooter, too.

Wait, what?

@Chazzr It's only free on Android because it's advertising-supported. They plan to release a pay version without ads, eventually.

@tehsage DS would actually make more sense than any of the other consoles listed. At least it's touch-screen. Without that, the game just isn't the same.
