Seattle Space Needle is a giant Angry Birds slingshot
Mar 25th 2012 1:39PM (Joystiq)These kinds of "fling the object" games have been around for a VERY long time, but what makes Angry Birds so popular is not necessarily the polish, even though that's part of it, but rather the timing. Angry Birds came out at a time when everyone was getting ipads or smartphones. Rovio rode the wave of touchpad technology to the golden shores of success and that's why they should be commended as business men; for getting their timing so damn right.

Mar 24th 2012 2:35PM (Joystiq)Yeah, they really could've done a much better job with this. instead of it looking like a slingshot, it looks like the bird's just chilling on a rope swing. It wouldn't've costed much more money to do it right either Just need an extra length of wire.
The Soapbox: The hidden perils of Guild Wars 2's microtransactions
Mar 21st 2012 4:43PM (Massively)You're funny. I like how you jumped down that other poster's throat for saying what amounted to "GW2 will be launched in a different economic atmosphere than GW." Classy. Poor guy doesn't say anything controversial and gets reamed out.
People should probably sit back and read things a couple times before they think of posting. Because most of the time if you don't, you're going to make yourself look like a total douchebag like (Unverified) up here did.
Mass Effect 3 player feedback spawns 'content initiatives,' details in April
Mar 21st 2012 1:23PM (Joystiq)I just think it's hilarious that the OP is named "whatisdelicious" and the next comment is by "A sandwich."
Mass Effect 3 player feedback spawns 'content initiatives,' details in April
Mar 21st 2012 1:21PM (Joystiq)If you read the actual quotes from Dr. Muzyka, you'll notice that he isn't talking about changing the endings but instead, "clarifying" them. In other words, what he's saying is that the ME3 team is hard at work on DLC that helps clarify what happens in the end.
I'd be surprised if they changed the ending of the game because their fan base got upset. It's their game and if anyone wants games to be considered art (with all the protections that comes with that) then we'll all have to shut up and take the piss on this one.
Tex Murphy may be revived as a Kickstarter proposal
Mar 21st 2012 1:05PM (Joystiq)And here I thought you were going to post a video that was relevant to the article...
THQ files '1666' trademark
Mar 14th 2012 1:25PM (Joystiq)There are literally hundreds of dates that were supposed to be the end of the world. Even in the last century, there was a new prediction every 4-12 years that the end of the world was going to happen. Meaning that the world should've ended about 10 times in the past century. Just thought that was an interesting statistic to share with you all, especially considering the upcoming date.
Hyperspace Beacon: Making sense of Legacy
Mar 13th 2012 2:55PM (Massively)Noooooo! I guess I'll just have to raid more on my Gunslinger, or roll another scoundrel, which I wouldn't mind doing since I loved the smuggler story line.
Epic in scope: SWTOR's James Ohlen explains plans for the future
Mar 13th 2012 2:53PM (Massively)LOL I'm not sure I even want to know where that lightsaber is coming from. The angle... it's all types of wrong.
Hyperspace Beacon: Making sense of Legacy
Mar 13th 2012 2:00PM (Massively)I know, it's weird that they're posting information about a MMO here. They must be getting paid to do it from BIOWARE.
/sarcasm
But seriously, there's still a lot of people that play this game and enjoy it. I'm loving this influx of information.
