Sam's Club soon offering free WiFi in all US locations

Aug 11th 2010 10:54AM (Engadget)
Actually, I know some Wal-Marts have been offering free wifi for a while now, mainly for truckers who stay in their parking lot overnight. I guess it makes sense that they would extend it to Sams Club

Google and Verizon publish joint policy proposal for 'an open internet'

Aug 9th 2010 3:01PM (Engadget)
@David V. I assume that is only a temporary plan of action until wireless networks mature. Right now, the wireless networks are in the process of a massive network upgrade to meet the demand of consumers. Id like to see all the details of the compromise, but I'm thinking once wireless networks are upgraded the same kind of regulations that were proposed for the wired networks will be proposed for the wireless.

@Tony the regional carriers usually have a smaller bill and decent coverage in that area. Might be worth it if that's the deal.

Nexus One is sold out in Google's store -- forever

Jul 21st 2010 11:14AM (Engadget)
I kind of hope they do a 'Nexus 2' with the launch of android 3.0. I thought the Nexus1 was successful as a proof of concept more than anything and really pushed phone makers to step their game up.

@Spensar although my Droid is still a great phone, I have the same feelings. Oh well. Counting down the days to my upgrade date..

Android 2.2 Froyo: everything you ever wanted to know

@gboehm. If you want updates sooner rather than later, i'd go with a non-sense/ basic stock android phone such as the Droid or Nexus One. If the sense UI is something you really crave though, id say go for it. Personally, the basic stock android UI is perfectly usable and fine on the Droid.

Netflix iPad app now available in the App Store (update: ABC Player, too)

Apr 1st 2010 7:26PM (Engadget)
@EGOvoruhk No kidding. Hopefully Flash on these devices will lure Netflix to make an app. What the hell is the ETA for flash on mobile devices anyways?

@ircmaxell

Just curious, what file browser did you use? Mine won't let me access the very root of the SD card. It says its read only.
