Nintendo Direct trailer roundup! YEEHAW!
Feb 22nd 2012 12:16PM (Joystiq)South Korean rating outs Magic: The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013
Feb 10th 2012 5:32PM (Joystiq)It looks like Archenemy mode and Chandra and Koth each have designated creatures to attack on the right and left side of the screen. The player in the middle is a human player that declared an attacker which (the confusing part) appears to be blocked by a tapped creature from Tezzeret. Then it appears Tezzeret pulled a destroy creature instant (the only player with black mana) on the creature he is blocking.

Feb 10th 2012 5:17PM (Joystiq)Humble Indie Bundle 3 rakes in $500K in 17 hours
Jul 27th 2011 4:23PM (Joystiq)True, but the fact remains that a ton of people gave them money that they never would have seen a dime from, otherwise. Myself included.
As a note, I'm not implying I'd pirate it, I'm just saying I was unaware these games existed. I just like these deals because these types of indie games run great on small laptops; for roadtrips/travel/etc..
New Xbox 360 Wireless Headset with Bluetooth, Remote with Live TV button coming this November
Jul 26th 2011 11:02AM (Joystiq)I did read the article, and it doesn't actually say it switches frequencies. The article, and the source, says the headset can support bluetooth. I'm curious if the headset has two separate radios in it or if the bluetooth radio on the headset is compatiblewith the 360's "standard radio frequencies".

Jul 26th 2011 10:45AM (Joystiq)OnLive's Space Marine pre-order includes free MicroConsole and Darksiders
May 25th 2011 10:54PM (Joystiq)You must have an abnormally bad experience. Prior to about a week ago, I was a disbeliever in the service. However, I redeemed some codes from the Humble Bundle offers on Onlive and got in on the free Amnesia code. After playing these, I was impressed with both the response time and the quality of the graphics. I've used the service through my laptop (on wifi) and on a wired connection through the microconsole going to my 55" TV and my normal Comcast cable connection has been more than sufficient bandwidth.
For those wondering how the "preorder and get a console" thing works, simply sign up for your free account and preorder the game. You'll nearly instantly be sent a code to redeem your console. This will ship to you in 2 days. As long as you don't cancel your preorder, you can keep the console. Shipping was $10 for me.
Sony: response to PSN outage was dependent on 'forensic analysis'
Apr 27th 2011 11:46AM (Joystiq)But, as Rollins alluded, using a salt combined with the hash thwarts the rainbow table attack.
Sony: response to PSN outage was dependent on 'forensic analysis'
Apr 27th 2011 11:20AM (Joystiq)It didn't need to be said. If the passwords were hashed, the hackers wouldn't have obtained them. The hashed value is close to worthless.
But Sony stating that the "PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login" were stolen pretty much indicates they were in plaint text. Otherwise, they would have only had to say "PlayStation Network/Qriocity login and some jarbled information that was output from a 1-way algorithm that we use to authenticate your password, but not your actual password."

Apr 27th 2011 11:14AM (Joystiq)Hah. "salt". Was that a password hashing joke? Good one.
