Next generation console victor to be decided by Hollywood?

May 2nd 2006 6:40PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Hmm, I really don't care which wins. I just hope the competition between the two forces them to bring down movie prices to decent levels (ie at least what DVDs are at now).

Warner to release first hybrid HD-DVD May 9th

What the? I thought both HDDVD and Blueray played all existing DVDs and CDs. Wasn't this one of the major selling points, ie it's not a whole new medium type ie tape to DVD, you can still use your DVDs on the new machines?

Crash & Spyro headline Vivendi E3 lineup

I'm so very glad that developers like Naughty Dog move onto new ideas. I mean I'm sure there would have been some outcry when they announced they wern't working on a new Crash game but a new unnamed title (Jak and Daxter), but I'm sure everyone will agree that the Jak and Daxter games were far superior to Crash.

Geeks, gamers, and grandmas alike dig Brain Age

I must say that for the longest time I've been pretty against the DS in general, mainly because of all the praise I heard Nintendogs get (the only game my sister owns for her DS), and my reaction after playing it myself. I mean didn't that Famitsu (whatever?) give it a perfect score? To me it was just a glorified tamagotchi with a lot of potental but in the end no real depth.

Anyway, lately all I've been starting to come around. The idea of playing through Mario 64 again, new 2D Mario, picking up Mario karts, fast paced FPS (Metriod), and then fun little titles like this and Tetris, I might just think about picking up a DS lite when it comes out in New Zealand.
