Or you can look at it like this, it's a long term preorder with multiple product tiers. You get what you pay for. If you paid $15 you get the game, if you paid more you get extra stuff, just like any other game.
It's not a "I give you this, and then I'll pay you more later" its "I'll give you this, and then you do this for me later" in this case it's them giving us a game.
