Top 5: Christmastime in Gaming

Dec 22nd 2008 4:31PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Seriously, soooo much fun.

And that's a huge piece of info missing from the article right there too. Just an FYI to anyone unaware, Sonic is playable in Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams demo.

Wii Warm Up: Give us Earthbound already

Dec 10th 2008 2:23PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
People like EarthBound because it's exactly the same as every other great SNES RPG, except totally different.

Let that sink in...

Seriously though, it's an RPG set in a pseudo America in the 1990's, where you eat hamburgers out of the trash and you beat up cults and a giant Barf.
It was very unappreciated in the US at it's release, but the humor and character development within the storyline is pretty amazing and visuals are very colorful and unique as well.

If it is released on VC, you owe it to yourself to give it a try.

Phil Harrison sees downloads as the future of gaming

Dec 4th 2008 5:01PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
1. I can't play (the hundreds of dollars worth of) downloaded games after my console breaks/eventually dies.

2. Apparently, Atari's Phil Harrison hasn't heard of ebay.

...or Atari collectors.

...or video game collectors in general.

...or anyone who's favorite game isn't available for download.

Wii Warm Up: Disaster planning

Dec 1st 2008 3:05PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Do I think a game about Americans, based on natural disasters taking place in America, and influenced by cheesy American action films will sell better in America?

Yes.

I imported Disaster and it's fantastic.

Disaster back on the train to Rumorsville

I thought that too, except that I've called Nintendo a couple of times to ask about Disaster and twice I've been told that it's not in their database and that they had no info whatsoever.

Disaster back on the train to Rumorsville

Well, as far as I know Silver Lunar's a girl, so, "Some girl saying she got an email from Nintendo customer support".

Anyway, I believe it. It didn't make a bit of sense to NOT release Disaster in the territory it seems to have been designed for. I, like many others have imported the game and are already enjoying it. I can only hope others in NA can experience this incredibly entertaining game for themselves soon.

It's-a Mario World: Mushroom Feast

"makes sense if we assume that Mario is trippin' balls"

Haha, awesome.

Bury the Shovelware: Metal Slug 7

Nov 26th 2008 11:53PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
"extremely damaging lack of co-op play"

Couldn't have said it better myself. I imported the Japanese version months ago and sold it to a friend the day I realized it wasn't co-op.

The bottom line is, if you've never played a Metal Slug game before, don't let this one ruin it for you. The co-op gameplay is terribly fun, addictive, and is the main reason I love the series so much...and yet it's missing from Metal Slug 7 DS.

Thankswagging: Holiday prize pack up for grabs

Nov 26th 2008 11:09PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I'm thankful for the other talented musicians in my band.

Without them, I'm nothing.

And Snatcher. I'm mostly thankful for Snatcher.

Amazon's Black Friday deals are worth staying home for

Nov 26th 2008 2:30PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Seriously, I've never played an AC title before but for $40, I'll be playing this one.
