New weapon against bomb threats: waggle

The wiimote is not accurate, and is not suited to this application (except to save costs). The government isn't always right ya know!

No More Heroes initially planned as a 360 game

It'll be disappointing if Suda jumps ship completely. NMH was the first proper mature game on the Wii, and I'd like more to come.

Wii Warm Up: The Brawl train

Jan 11th 2008 8:58AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I typed my comment yesterday but it didn't go through! I can't be stuffed typing all that again so here is the condensed form:

I didn't really like SSBM to be honest. I played the first SSB sporadically. I think its a great game... with friends. Its good for parties and having fun. Someone even told me that SSB has the most precise timing out of any fighting game ever to which I say bollocks.

While SSBB will probably be a great game, I feel that it is being overhyped. It will be a blast to play in multiplayer, but it does not have the mature themes, moral dilemmas, engaging plot or deep gameplay that I've come to enjoy as I've grown older. Some of you may disagree, but its surprising that so far I think I'm the only one who awaits SSBB with a 'meh' attitude.

But all that being said, the game will be fun with other people. Which is probably what you guys are looking for. But not me.

I REALLY hope they bring Rock Band for the Wii! That would be so awesome!

An avalanche of Wii Fit videos [update]

Jan 9th 2008 5:14AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I'm kind of disappointed with the fitness capabilities of the DDR ripoff game. It's WAY too easy and is more for slow aerobics based workout instead of the sprinting-on-the-spot fest I've come to love from DDR and ITG. Perhaps they have an ultra difficult mode and fast songs or something, otherwise I don't really see the point of slowly stepping on and off a board for exercise or even to have fun.

I guess I'll go buy DDR Hottest Party now.

Wii Warm Up: Point and shoot

Jan 7th 2008 9:13AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
The calibration in Ghost Squad helps things. A little. However I noticed that it is calibrated according to the angle of your remote. So it's perfectly accurate when your gun is note moved. As soon as you move it along the x-y axis then the angle calibration is stuffed up and it won't be accurate anymore.

Basically, the light gun games work by measuring angle from a set position. Move from that position and it is no longer calibrated correctly. Sucks really.

Note that I'm only about 80% sure on this, feel free to correct me if you know otherwise.

More Geometry Wars on the Wii is a possibility

If they make another one for the wii, at least let it have Gamecube controller support!!! That way you can use an adaptor and use your xbox or ps2 controllers, pleasing everyone in terms of the control system.

'Amazing, exciting, fantastic and training body reaction'

Jan 1st 2008 7:14PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Might be good for Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire. Point is, if you add some sort of sword attachment to the Wiimote, there will might be a requirement for proper sword technique since there is an added weight and momentum, and you will tire easily if you do not cut with it properly. Better exercise!

Guitar Hero rocks Christmas decorations

Its the PC version isn't it, not Wii? That's what I gathered from the video.
