Possible Marvel vs Capcom 2 teaser site countdown

Apr 21st 2009 3:19PM (Joystiq)
it wasn't until i saw the '2' ghosted behind the countdown clock that i freaked out!

i don't think Capcom needs to do an HD Remix treatment to this game. the original sprites look great as it is. just upscale them to look sharp on an HD set, make the online functionality as good as it was for HD Remix (not the crappy SFIV online system) and i'll buy it for both PS3 & 360.

PSN Thursday: Rag Dolls flock around with sheep

7 Cities last week and now Super Collapse 3… really? that's the best PSP content you can dig up, Sony? i've got a DS, an iPhone and a Wii if i want to pay for crappy, re-hashed puzzle games that i can probably play for free in a web browser somewhere.

oh well, i'm kinda broke right now anyway…

Amazon selling Xbox Live Arcade game codes

wow. i'm never buying MS Points again! my biggest pet peeve about XBLA is having leftover MS Points. paying $10 for a game that costs $10… why didn't they think of this sooner!?

hopefully you won't be visiting and re-playing the same damn dungeon over and over and over and over and over… Phantom Hourglass was an incredible game weighed down by that one really, REALLY bad element.

raise your hand if you didn't know already that, as a piece of hardware, the 360 is a piece of shit.

SFII HD designer calls out SFIV for user unfriendliness

Feb 25th 2009 5:54PM (Joystiq)
another good example would be Fei Long's Chicken Wing move. Sirlin & Co. made the physical input easier, and input timing window more lenient and that one minor change made Fei Long a contender. now, in IV, the move comes out VERY inconsistently to the point that Fei Long is a weaker character because of it.

SFII HD designer calls out SFIV for user unfriendliness

for me, this one of those, "well, gee, i never thought about it that way" situations. i have to give Sirlin the point here. i LOVE both HDRemix and SFIV, but like an earlier poster said there were some very smart choices and balancing decisions Sirlin and his team made in HD Remix that i was disappointed they omitted in IV. for example, E. Honda's LP Headbutt's ability to go through fireballs. i thought that was an incredible choice for Honda and it game him a tool to lessen one of his biggest weaknesses. in IV, Honda is at a huge disadvantage versus a shoto with a good zoning game.

anyway, i love both games, but Sirlin has a very VERY good point.

Left 4 Dead receives massive patch on Xbox 360

i agree with you, but i AM going to be an ass about it. in it's current state, L4D isn't worth $60 imo. it's half of a bug-ridden, multiplayer-only game. L4D has it's merits, but the ONLY reason it wasn't torn to shreds by the gaming media, like Shadowrun was, is because it has a Valve logo on it.

New Metal Gear Solid Touch details, official site

sorry, but that look like exactly what an iPhone version of MGS4 should be… quick, simple and easy to take out of my pocket and play for 5-10 minutes while my wife's looking for clothes in the mall. it's Time Crisis with an MGS4 skin and some story elements – sounds like fun to me.

of course, any news about this game is doomed to be flamed on gaming blogs just by virtue of being A) developed for an Apple product, and B) based on a Sony exclusive franchise. Also, good iPhone developers are the new dot com millionaires. you elitist "hardcore" PC/360 gamers can deny, bitch and flame all you want, but when some high school kid can make hundreds of thousands dollars developing a simple, decent puzzle or cannon game for the iPhone, you'd damn well better believe that Konami (along with any other savvy developer) should be looking to capitalize on that market with some of their triple-A titles. they'd be stupid not to! do you have any idea how cheap it is to make an iPhone game as opposed to a full console game, or even DLC? it's called Return On Investment.
