So where did these prices come from:

US Configurations and MSRP:
$269 1GB memory + 80GB HDD Linux edition
$299 1GB memory + 80GB HDD XP edition
$299 2GB memory + 160GB HDD Linux edition

Availability: For the US, we're expecting to hit the market Mid July. For French-speaking Canada, a French Linux version will be available the following month.

This was posted on a bunch of tech sites back in early June.

i installed the RC1 and my startup seems slower than with SP2. i also had some software/hardware failure problem for some reason; if it continues i'm going back to SP2.

will try disabling all startups for now and see how RC1 performs for the next few days.

sony forgot that playstation is about games and not format wars.

MS has this generation on lock with pricing, games, and hardware.
