When I'm at work my favorite tasty beverage is unsweetened iced tea. If its sweet tea I'd rather drink water.

If I'm out on the weekends, its gotta be Francis Ford Coppola's Pinot Noir. Yummmmm

If I remember correctly when Jacob passed his cup to jack, you couldn't see the contents of the liquid inside the cup. I saw a very obvious Jesus-turning-water-into-wine motif there, and halfway expected that to be the case. When Jack gave Hurley the water it was in a clear bottle, so it was easy to see that Jack's handoff to Hurley was very dissimilar to Jacob's handoff to Jack. Whether or not wine is necessary for this ritual is up in the air at this point, from what I can tell. Perhaps Hurley only got an assignment and not the full immortal package, so to speak.

Now the real mystery to me is why Jacob would allow himself to pretend that his brother still exists. We've seen them sit and wax existential, staring out at the end of last season. Jacob found and 'buried' the body of his brother in the cave alongside his Mom. He had to have known that the smoke monster merely shifted to the man in black's form. While he might be aware of MiB's memories and motivations, Jacob must realize that this creature he unleashed by sending his brother into the light is evil, and no longer holds any remnant of his brother's morality or insight.

Yet Jacob still sits with him, listening to the monster's threats. It seems to me that Jacob would be the one threatening to kill the Smoke monster, not the reverse. It was Jacob's act of vengeance for his mother that unleashed the Smoke monster to begin with.

If anything this episode has proven once again that these characters aren't simply black & white. Each action is another subtle layer of gray which defines them as complex and even occasionally misguided personalities that usher a level of verisimilitude I've never seen before in a television series.

I'm watching the Back to the Future trilogy on DVD. Getting a blu-ray player next week!!!

Remaking Alien is the most disappointing to me by far.

I was just researching this movie yesterday and was so sad to see it may not be receiving further funding from Sony Pictures. Looks like that's been resolved.

And Gondry to direct! I don't think I could be more excited at this point. Lawd.

Lets face it, the acting from the supporting cast couldn't be any worse in S. Darko. Hate to say it, but you all know Drew Barrymore ruined nearly every scene she was in in DD.
