Ah, I remember the early days of the Joystiq Podcast like they were just yesterday! I found out about it from the CAGCast when Chris went on their show... or was it the other way around when Cheapy was on the Joystiq podcast. Either way I'm getting a little misty just thinking about it... After listening to you guys for over 300 hours or so (12.5 days!) I can't imagine a world without the Joystiq Podcast.

I just hope, like the Chilean miners... you will someday return.

Actually that's the thing though, people DON'T buy them. Like the Wii, the app store is experiencing a large divide between what the popular stuff sells and what the rest of the crap sells. I can't just write a boring 5 min game and expect people to pay $.99 for it when freaking flight control is $1!

Are iPhone games different experiences than DS or console games? Of course! But the crap still doesn't sell. (and like console games the crap that does sell has a franchise tie-in)

At least for me it's a matter of the subscription fee. I already pay for Netflix. I am not going to get rid of Netflix, because I like it better than Hulu. And I certainly won't pay $10/mo. just so I don't have to plug an hdmi cable into my laptop and the TV to watch Hulu on TV.

I'm looking for ways to reduce my monthly bills, not increase them.

I was just thinking this too - it would be hard to keep steady while playing in bed as I often do. The guys on the Giant Bombcast made it sound like if you're not looking at it exactly right it's unplayable.

Still they'll have my $200

The sad thing is this will probably get lots of people to pay the $50/year. If they actually have a headset. I will certainly try the 3 free months, but if I never use the features why would I pay the $50?

(Still more free than Live though!)
