And dont bother paying conquest points for the empress/emperor rings, just do the tutorial quest given by the guard in your home town:

Selele Windurst Woods (K-10)

They npc will give you a voucher for a free ring, then proceed to buying the ring from a signet casting guard like you normally would, it'll show up as 0 cost.

You also get a raising earring and some xp and gil for going through the chain of errands.

I just started about two weeks ago on a 14 day trial, man thats gonna expire soon, and I must say that things are more welcoming, I wont say easy, because things can still be difficult. Its been almost refreshing after burning out on other MMOs. Still grindy, but getting subjobs, and soon advanced jobs have kept me playing. Even the crafting is getting its hooks in me.
