As far as Sonic characters go, I think these are the only ones you need:

First and foremost you need Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Dr. Robotnik (or "Eggman" if you perfer that...).

You could debate between Blaze and Amy. Blaze is more of the strong yet at times feminine female character while Amy is your typical Damsel in Distress. If we're sticking to old school though then Yes, Amy.

As far as arch rivals go, Metal Sonic 100%, I'll admit...there are times I can tolerate Shadow, but they kinda threw a monkey wrench in that character with the vehicles (ahhh, what?).

And personaly, I'd kind of wish the Chaotix were kept. Y'know as comic relief. Which brings me to this little fun fact, in the original version of the Genesis Sonic, Vector was supposed to be in the sound test menu, but was scrapped later on. Making him the third oldest Sonic character technicaly.

This would be a curveball though, hell I'd sacrafice the Chaotix for this guy, Mighty.

As far as games go, I'd have to agree. I was playing Sonic 3 recently while listening to some remixed music from Sonic 3, and thought..."What if they made an updated version of Sonic 3 and Knuckles...that would be boss!"

Yeah well there really isn't much to be said about Sonic gameplay in general. Most of the time you're using the D-Pad or Control Stick to move and the jump button for just that as well as spin-dashing. Bingo! Yahtzee! Tell 'em what they won, Johnny! Our survey says: You got Sonic gameplay!

If you asked me, all they really did they just added another button.

The framerate thing I'm sure will probably be ironed out though.

Had it ever occured to you that maybe you guys should maybe PLAY a game before judging it? I mean, I think Sonic's past outings haven't been the greatest as much as the next guy, but seriously! Give it a chance at least. Just pretend the Werehog is Knuckles or something. If I was in charge of this game that's where I'd put Knuckles in this game.

I'm going in to this with a blank slate. I'm optimistic, but I'm not foaming at the mouth to buy this game.

Well I've enjoyed the control so far. Unfortunatly I've been trying to finally close the most recent chapter in the Zelda series (I'm not counting Phantom Hourglass just yet since it's not out in the states yet). Hell I finally got a guide for it so I can use the huge honkin' map in it.

Plus I let someone try it out while I was playing and they said to me "Crap I probably shouldn't play this too long or else I'm gonna wanna buy it." Or something like that. And this guy was sketchy on First Person views on the Wii, but it was due to Red Steel (Apparently people don't really like that game, but I enjoyed it for what it was.).

But I agree, an online Metroid would be spectacular, but maybe they're waiting for a type of Wii Mic for online play before crossing that bridge. But that's my thoughts.
