The Unbelievers: fair reviews by being blatantly unfair

Aug 7th 2006 2:25AM (Joystiq)
Premiss: A website with a no-bullshit approach to game reviews.

First impression: Kids trying to be "cool"; but instead end up being outrageous, racist and "funny" (by "funny" I mean the opposite). And the fact that in both reviews, it seems as if the reviewers really don't want to do this, far to negative about everything. I don't find anything special about this site at all..

Sony pulls controversial PSP ads

Jul 12th 2006 7:53AM (Joystiq)
Jay, you base your purchase on an ad? So instead of looking at all the cool things the PSP has, you decide to base it on an ad, which was started in the netherlands, and was blown way out of proportion?

You are the assholes I'm talking about further up, stop being so righteous and tell us the real reason you won't buy (expensive, not many great games, expensive... and, hmm... expensive).

I have one, and I want the white just because it's white. And the black is ugly, it gets dirty just by looking at it. I wish I had a nice black DS lite though, but I have to settle for the white one I got.

P.S. How many found the above sentence "racial"? If you found it to be racial, you are also an asshole.

Thank you.

Sony pulls controversial PSP ads

I love to read how many of you lost faith in Sony etc. because of this ad. It just shows that you are all extremly anal retentive, getting fired up over an ad that wasn't even racist.

Calling the ad racist was the only thing that made it racist "OMG A BLACK WOMAN AND A WHITE WOMAN!!!1 AND THEIR FIGHTING!?!", I thought the world had come further and that we didn't focus on skin color.

The only people who actually focused on it - who saw racism where you so called anti-racist people. You're the ones throwing fuel on the fire here.

Nintendo invokes good names to defend a bad one [update 1]

Apr 29th 2006 6:45AM (Joystiq)
The Nintendo marketing team is rubbing their hands right now. Because this has got to be the most talked about subject on the internet this week. Probably next week, and the next week after that.

Say it with me people; All PR is good PR.

As for the name, I love it. It's so unique and strange it will work like a charm. Besides, I'm sick of "PLAYSTATION 5123523" and "XBOX 1080" etc. Like I've said before, Sony isn't a brand name, neither is Microsoft. Sony and MS can't change the name of their console, people wouldn't understand. For Nintendo, the brand is Nintendo, not Wii. They will sell because it's Nintendo.

Nintendo "Revolution" now called "Wii" [update 6]

Apr 28th 2006 10:08AM (Joystiq)
I like it. I actually didn't like "Revolution", to flat. "Wii" is unique, I mean, atleast Nintendo does something with the name *cough*PlayStation 3*cough*Xbox 360*cough*

The branding is "Nintendo", "Wii" is their console name. It will sell because it's "Nintendo", not "Wii" or "Revolution" whatever.

Funeral crashing in WoW

Apr 17th 2006 10:49AM (Joystiq)
So basically you are all saying that the "internet" is no place for mourning a persons death? So if a guy on an internet forum, or an IRC channel dies, one should not pay respect for that person?

17. Let me guess, you are one of those people who seperate the internet from real life? One can have friends on the internet, many friends are even more important here then IRL. And what the hell is RL anyway? The internet is just an extension of this. The person in question most likely spent lots of time with these people, even if it was only in a game, they where still friends of this person. They knew him for who he portrayed, that dosn't make his passing any less important then if they knew him in person.

Funeral crashing in WoW

They are holding a good buy for a friend that loved WoW. It's the thought that counts, and calling it stupid is extremly childish.

And that video just goes to show that people on the internet are retarded little kids who don't have anything better to do then fuck up for everyone else. It was a nice thing to do for a person who was their friend, and these guys go in and fuck it up, real mature.

And telling them to go to the funeral is a bit silly imo, most likely they are peopel from all over the country (maybe even world).
