Activision registers ActivisionNews.com, trying to put us out of work

Joke's on them! I can't read blurry latin.

Project Zero 2 (Fatal Frame 2) to terrify European Wii owners

I'd rather have an HD rerelease on the PS3 honestly... this was my favorite of the FF series.

Yoshida: The Last Guardian still happening, but progress 'slow'

Feb 10th 2012 12:02PM (Joystiq)
@dakoe3 Start acting like Activision? You mean treating their employees like disposable slave labor and churning out sequels every year? No thanks. Japanese development is definitely lagging behind in terms of efficiency of process, but you have to consider that even with the most efficient workplace these games would take considerably longer to develop than most. I doubt people would still remember Ico or SotC as fondly if they had been 18 month rush jobs to meet the holiday cash grab.

Yoshida: The Last Guardian still happening, but progress 'slow'

@TehPeanut

Considering Last Guardian has been in development for almost 6 years... I'd say contextually that's still pretty recent.

Star Wars ads find their way into Deus Ex: Human Revolution loading screens

Sep 15th 2011 12:51PM (Joystiq)
@parabolee

I remember a few years ago they re-released a free version of Far Cry that was ad supported in a very similar (though more obvious) way on loading screens.... and for that reason the game was totally free to play.
That was fine.

In this scenario there is no excuse, you pay a full $60 for a game only to have the same treatment. The game sounds great, but this is a really offensive thing to do to your customers. How about you sell the game for $40 if you're going to pipe unsolicited advertisement into the game? Or better yet, reserve the feature for only used copies of the game to combat the revenue loss that publishers see from the used games market?

I think Jojo's Bizarre Adventure beat them to the punch...

From Dust PC online authentication to be patched out

Why after several years and multiple fiascos regarding this type of DRM they still insist on including it in their products is baffling. They are creating guaranteed negative buzz during the launch period of a product, how on earth could they not see that this would hurt their sales?

BioShock Infinite Gamescom screens make Elizabeth sad

I swear she looks younger in every new screenshot I've seen. She looks like she's 11.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories revealed as top-down multiplayer game

Aug 17th 2011 9:19AM (Joystiq)
I'm certainly all for the series exploring beyond the well worn confines of its predecessors but nothing about this game (which admittedly, details are still sparse about) sounds like it speaks to any strength the franchise has, which makes it just seem like a franchise cash-in to attract people who only care about recognizable characters. I'm not big on the idea of any portable Silent Hill game, though, honestly.

MDK2 HD arriving 'this September' on Beamdog, former BioWare dev's service

Aug 12th 2011 12:34PM (Joystiq)
Something.....something is off here. I'm getting the urge to perform saucy dance moves to spicy latin rhythms? Why MDK2?
