Nintendo Media Summit: Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree hands-on (Wii)

May 25th 2007 9:00AM (Joystiq)
Wait a minute, so this means that developers can simply import the wii's friend codes and use that in their games? Wasn't it said some time ago that it couldn't be done like that? Or am I thinking about just one particular developer's thoughts on one particular game?

Miyamoto interview: "I could make Halo"

May 7th 2007 10:41AM (Joystiq)
Man, here's a thought.

You know how at the end of Wind Waker, you could play as Link without his hero tunic on? What if, at the end of Twilight Princess, you could play as that Miyamoto? :D

World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade footage leak

Sep 30th 2006 10:35AM (Joystiq)
Okay, I'm having a slight argument with a friend over what a Draenai is and what a Blood elf is.

He claims that the Draenei are like night elves with tails, and I tell him that BLOOD ELVES are like night elves with tails.

Can someone clear this up?

Video: New Zelda: Twilight Princess Wii trailer

Man, I am loving the music for this.
Anyone else think that this is a sneak-preview of the overworld theme similar to what Windwaker did?

I particularily like the part in the song where link hits a switch and magnetically attaches to the rock overhead. That particular part of the song was quite epic, methinks :P

Actually, the trailer was posted up on youtube, Joystiq is simply relaying it from that.
If you actually downloaded the video file, you'd notice some massive graphical differences.

Wii anticipation drives Nintendo stock price to six-year high

Hot diggity dawg!

R.I.P.: Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin

Sep 5th 2006 2:08PM (Joystiq)
This bit of news is sad, for sure.

But to be honest, I saw this coming a looooong time ago. When he had the ego to open a croc's jaw and stick his head in and just laugh, I knew his cockiness would just get him killed.

But from a Stingray? THAT'S surprising...

But still, sad news indeed. RIP, mate.

IGN's quality Wii footage at Leipzig

Sep 4th 2006 4:45PM (Joystiq)
I was one of the very many that was eating my toenails in anticipation for Wii news in Leipzig.

When nothing but Strikers and Battalion Wars showed, I was extremely upset. However, this could be due in part to the fact that I've briefly watched someone play the cube strikers and have NEVER seen even a single screenshot of BW.

Though I must say, IGN's video has my interest perked. BW looks a lot of fun, despite the fact that I never played the original. And there's something undeniably cool about watching Mario plummet into the stadium in a stylized fashion, only to be followed with his eyes glowing like he's some kind of soccer-obsessed demon, and smashing the ball into the net. It hasn't got me jumping for dear joy, but I'll look into them as more information comes.
