I don't know anything about how data/voice on VZW works, but if you really can't use data and voice at the same time then imagine this: You're using your new fancy DROID for GPS directions while driving. Google is happily sending you maps and directions over 3G (I think that's how it works) and you want to take an important call (on speakerphone, of course, so you can still know where you're going). Whoops, there goes your directions! Better hang up quick :)
I also don't know what I'm talking about mostly so that could be completely untrue.
Maybe, just maybe, LAN is nice because having 8 people connect to the internet over one line sending data back and forth to bnet is clearly going to lag more than having them all on one 100mbps network talking to each other.
Or, maybe, it would be nice to be able to keep playing the game once Blizzard decides to close up bnet (which WILL happen at some point).
Clearly the people defending Blizzard or acting like this is nothing have never had a LAN party.
"According to Mole sources, the BBC knew as far back as 1974 that one day they'd hire Jeremy Clarkson to front their motoring show which didn't exist yet, and that Jeremy would probably go to a school where they called new boys "Stigs", and that in 2002 he'd probably invent an anonymous racing driver and probably give him that same name. "
