NintendoWare Weekly: Urban Champion, Flight Control

@squallgengar

i tried to get through that video, but by the end of the first 32 bars
(i really did try to give it a chance) of that shitty anti-art wannabe r&b garbage of a 'song' i had to slap my 3ds shut in disgust... i definitely do not want anything like that automatically downloaded onto my system in the future, i do not want to support that type of 'artist'... fkn hire some people with a clue and some taste to select these videos ... for real ... im starting to get pist.

Walk with me through the MoMA's 'Talk To Me' gaming exhibit

Jul 30th 2011 12:10PM (Joystiq)
i had a blast! i was really hoping for some devs to be on hand, but even so... the games, slim pickins and all, were pretty decent choices, the 'talk with me' exhibition was mostly awesome... and the brooklyn beers were FREE!!! not to mention i made somewhere between double and triple the streetpass hits at that one event than i've made in total since i bought the 3ds on release day.

Rumor: Wii successor has controller with giant touchscreen, also uses motion controls

@Drakkenfyre
i kindly disagree. knowing that the raw components of say, the 3ds, are just a hare over $100 and that this controller likely won't have any substantial/stand-alone brains of its own... nor would its screen likely to be as sharp as the top 3d screen of the 3ds (800x320 i believe) and its camera would likely be of a resolution of a 3 yr old cell phone camera... it could conceiveably be mass produced at a very reasonable price.

@Babelfish
agreed that some essential computational components would be required in said rumored controller, that is why i specifically noted that it wouldn't require cpu/gpu in the same sense that a portable device like a ds or ipad would... it would need some essential elements for sure, but no where near as much as a stand alone device that functions on its own and by itself would.

assuming there is some validity to this rumor, it doesn't necessarily follow that the controller would be so expensive as guessed in this article... if the controller has a 6.2" screen, but no 'brains' of its own (no cpu/gpu as in a ds or kindle or ipad sense)... if it is just a shell that receives info via the game console itself and the screen is of similar resolution to a ds screen, then i think this controller can be manufactured at a price as reasonable as the old dreamcast / vmu controller was.

Joyswag: Dreamcast Collection, soundtrack vinyl and 'Still Thinking' hoodie

skies of arcadia... first time i walked up on the pyramid 'dungeon' with the dc hooked up to a computer monitor via its vga box add-on was jaw-dropping.
i could say the same about the Bleem! version of gran-turismo 2 but that's not a true dc game.

12 Days of Joyswag: Disney Epic Mickey game, jacket, Wiimote charger

"the straight story"
a David Lynch directed, Disney produced movie... what a strange pairing.

IGN and GameStop forge partnership, combine traffic, learn the power of sharing

@Drakkenfyre

i agree completely, except that i personally didn't stop frequenting that site till about or month or so ago; old habits die hard i guess.
i started following matt casamassina waaay back... he was an actual journalist, not an uninformed, juvenile, dipstick like much of the staff left over @ IGN now.
over the past 6+ months the content has gotten duller, less informative, in some cases (such as their podcasts) flat out annoying and most certainly slower to the punch than other sites, such as Joystiq!
