Sony had a class action lawsuit brought upon them back in the day, i suggest you go do some research before you start typing things you know nothing about.

But then you probably arent old enough to remember the PS1.

I suggest you go look up the $150m deal Toshiba/HD-DVD did to get Paramount exclusivity.

Both sides threw money at movie studios and offered underhanded deals, it just happened that Sony had more money to throw out than Toshiba did.

Er of course it is designed for reading dvds, do you think a Wii Game dvd with up to 4.7Gb of game data spins till the game loads then stops spinning?

Until the back plastic cracks and you have to send it away to apple to be repaired.

So they can just sit on the couch and order up a film without having to place it in a queue and wait for the disk to arrive at their door assuming the film they want is in stock and is sent straight away.

Its not rocket science is it.

It is not illegal to install OSX on a machine other than a mac, go read up what a EULA is, its not legally enforceable, the extent of what Apple could do if someone broke the EULA is refuse to support them.

Getting a little sick of people saying its Illegal when it clearly isnt.

Its not rocket science, all it needs is a bit of common sense.

Apple machines run on intel chipsets, apple could easily put out a version of OSX that installs on "open boxes" that only supports a handful of hardware that forms the basis for the real macs, they dont have to write drivers for every bit of hardware in the world.

Then you have a choice, you build your own beige box or you go buy an OEM just like every Windows PC.

If it takes you over 1 minute to boot vista you must have a crap pc, takes about 30-40 seconds for vista to boot for me.
