I will not pay for this. In the case that I need access to a beta (say, SOCOM) I might buy that particular month but refuse to pay for stuff that should be free (even though I pay for cable tv).

You didn't feel that way while playing the original Halo, huh? So bland. Already done. Of course you didn't get bored in Halo 2 with all of the backtracking. That kept you busy.

Dude. Try playing Half-life 2 or even The Darkness (way underrated) and tell me you feel the same. Call of Duty 4 takes a tired genre and totally refreshes it will amazing depth in in gameplay/graphics and the way the story directly involves the player (not to mention the multiplayer).

I think you are totally missing the point of the character design. It is supposed to be different and not at all bubbly. The world is supposed to be "odd" and creepy. The Mudokens have nasally voices as well. These quirks add to the character. The first two games are pure gold. Ah well. Greatness is lost on some.
